BTS fans, fondly known as ARMYs, are known for their dedication and love for the group. But sometimes, even the biggest fans can be a little too enthusiastic, as V of BTS hilariously discovered a few years ago.

V Attempts a Late-Night Chat with Fans

Back in 2019, V, known for his playful personality, decided to embark on a late-night adventure – not in the physical world, but in the virtual one. He stumbled upon an open chatroom on KakaoTalk, a popular Korean messaging app, and decided to join in the conversation with fellow BTS fans.

Lost in Translation (and Chatroom Rules)

However, V’s attempt at a casual chat with fans quickly turned into a lesson in chatroom etiquette. He soon found himself on the receiving end of friendly, yet firm, reminders from ARMYs about the chatroom’s rules.

The Rules of Engagement:

The first rule V learned the hard way? In this particular chatroom, usernames were expected to be real names, not those of idols. So, naturally, the fans didn’t recognize V as their favorite singer when he entered using something other than his real name, Kim Taehyung.

Secondly, V discovered that the chatroom operated on a unique system – communication happened solely through pictures, not text messages. V, unaware of this rule, used text to chat, which resulted in a “fine” from the chatroom moderators.

A Flustered V Tries to Prove His Identity

Faced with potential expulsion from the chatroom, V, ever the resourceful individual, attempted to prove his identity. He sent a voice message and even promised to post proof of his identity on Twitter (which has since been discontinued). He later posted a video thanking the ARMYs through the official BTS Twitter account.

A Lesson Learned with a Laugh

V eventually left the chatroom, but not before promising to return once he had mastered the art of navigating the unique rules of the online space. This hilarious incident, still fondly remembered by both V and ARMYs, is a testament to the playful bond they share.

More About BTS V:

V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, is a singer, songwriter, and actor. He is one of the seven members of the world-famous South Korean boy group BTS. He is known for his vocals, stage presence, and charming personality.
