The latest episode of Tracker, titled “First Fire,” took viewers on a frightening Halloween adventure. In the episode that aired November 2, 2025, Colter Shaw’s search for an escaped arsonist revealed a much darker conspiracy led by a delusional nun.

The story began with a murder and an escape from a psychiatric facility on Halloween night. What first looked like a simple manhunt for a dangerous patient quickly turned into a fight against a fanatical group. Colter had to work with a local police officer to save two lives from a twisted ritual.

The Case of the Missing Arsonist

The episode opened at the Wyndham Psychiatric Detention Center during a power outage on Halloween. A nurse was found dead, and a patient named Heston Koontz had vanished. Heston was a known arsonist who had been convicted for burning an entire family alive, with only one member, a young woman named Emily, surviving.

Heston’s own parents hired Colter to find their son, believing he was a grave threat to the community. They explained that Heston had suffered from severe mental health issues, which included becoming dangerously obsessed with Emily. Colter teamed up with Detective Dundee to track him down. Their first clue was a key card found at the scene, suggesting Heston had help from an accomplice to escape.

A Sinister Twist and a New Cult Threat

The investigation led Colter and Dundee to a man named Bill Prugalidad, who had run Bible studies at the facility. However, when Colter went to Bill’s home, he discovered the man had already been dead for days. His car was missing. The pair soon realized that Emily had also been abducted.

With help from Reenie and Randy, Colter connected the case to a local convent called the Sisters of the Sacred Fire. A nun named Sister Carlotta had regularly visited Heston, believing he was innocent. Colter found her journal, which contained a map of the detention center and a final entry mentioning “First Fire,” asking for God’s forgiveness for what she planned to do.

Colter and Dundee discovered that Heston had not escaped but was actually kidnapped by Sister Carlotta and the convent’s groundskeeper, Jared. They were part of a secret, radical sect known as the Fideles. This group believed Heston was possessed by a demon and that Emily was his “tether.” Their plan was to perform a ritual to purge the evil by burning them both alive.

Sister Barbara, another nun at the convent, explained to Colter that the Fideles was a splinter group she thought had been eliminated. She said they took it upon themselves to hunt down those they believed were inhabited by demons.

A Dangerous Rescue and a Fiery Confrontation

Understanding the clue “First Fire,” Colter and Dundee raced to the site of Heston’s original crimeโ€”the burned-down home of Emily’s family. There, Sister Carlotta and her followers had already begun their deadly ritual, pouring gasoline on Heston and Emily.

Colter arrived just in time to intervene. During the struggle, Heston managed to break free from his restraints. He tackled Sister Carlotta, and as the fire spread, both of them perished in the flames. Colter was able to rescue Emily, and Detective Dundee, though injured in the operation, survived.

In the end, Colter did not accept the reward money from Heston’s parents. Believing he had failed to bring Heston back alive, he convinced the family to give the reward to Emily instead, hoping it would help her build a new life.

New Additions to the Team

This episode also introduced new dynamics for Colter’s support team. Reenie hired a new legal assistant named Melanie “Mel” Day, a spirited young woman with a military family background that resonated with Reenie.

The episode confirmed that Randy is now a permanent part of the team, working from Reenie’s office. The scenes showed Randy and Mel meeting for the first time, suggesting potential for their roles to grow throughout the season.
