The hit CBS drama Tracker is back on the air, and its hero Colter Shaw is facing his most personal mystery yet. The show’s third season premiered on Sunday, October 19, 2025, picking up right after the shocking revelation about his father’s death that closed out the last season. With a longer season and major shifts in the cast, here is everything you need to know to follow Colter’s new adventures.
The New Season Premiere
Tracker Season 3 began with a two-part premiere event on CBS. The first episode, titled “The Process,” aired on October 19 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. The story continues with the second part, “Leverage,” which will air on Sunday, October 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
In the premiere, Colter Shaw is struggling to deal with the truth about his father’s death. The investigation forces him to work with his estranged brother, Russell, played by Jensen Ackles. They team up to find a missing wife and daughter, a case that pulls them into a dangerous underground network.
How to Watch New Episodes
You can watch new episodes of Tracker every Sunday night on CBS at the 8:00 p.m. ET/PT time slot.
For cord-cutters, the show is available to stream on Paramount+. The time you get access depends on your subscription plan. Paramount+ Premium subscribers can watch new episodes live as they broadcast on CBS. Paramount+ Essential subscribers can stream episodes the day after they air on television.
Several live TV streaming services also carry CBS, including fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, DirecTV Stream, and YouTube TV.
What to Expect in Season 3
The third season of Tracker will be its biggest yet, with a total of 22 episodes planned. This is more than the 13 episodes in Season 1 and the 20 episodes in Season 2. The season will air in two parts: the first block of episodes will run through a midseason finale later this winter. After a break, the season will resume in early 2026 and is expected to finish in late spring.
The main story will focus on Colter dealing with the fallout from the Season 2 finale, where he learned his mother, Mary Dove, might have been involved in his father’s murder. Showrunner Elwood Reid explained that this revelation will make Colter question everything he thought he knew about his family.
Justin Hartley, who plays Colter, teased a new dynamic for his character this season: “Instead of him always looking and chasing after someone, he is being chased. This is an interesting turn for our show.”
Changes to the Cast
The team around Colter Shaw has seen some changes. Two series regulars from previous seasons will not be returning: Abby McEnany, who played Velma, and Eric Graise, who played tech expert Bobby. The story explains that Velma has left to be with her partner Teddi, and Bobby has moved on to a new job opportunity.
The core cast now includes:
- Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw
- Fiona Rene as Reenie Greene
They are joined by a strong group of returning recurring actors:
- Jensen Ackles as Russell Shaw, Colter’s brother
- Wendy Crewson as Mary Dove Shaw, Colter’s mother
- Chris Lee as Randy, who continues to provide tech support
- Alex Fernandez as Otto Waldron, the man connected to Ashton Shaw’s death
International Streaming Viewers
For viewers outside the United States, the show is available on different platforms. In Canada, new episodes air on CTV and are available to stream for free for a limited time on the CTV website and app. In the United Kingdom, the season is expected to arrive on Disney+ around December 2025. Australian fans can expect to see Season 3 on Disney+ in early 2026.
The Story So Far
Tracker follows Colter Shaw, a survivalist and “rewardist” who travels the country to help find missing people for reward money. The show is based on the novel The Never Game by author Jeffery Deaver.
The overarching mystery of the show has been the death of Colter’s father, Ashton. For years, Colter believed his older brother, Russell, was responsible. The Season 2 finale turned this belief upside down. Colter discovered that a family friend, Otto Waldron, actually pushed his father off a cliff. In a stunning confession, Otto claimed he did it at the request of Colter’s mother, Mary Dove.
This devastating family secret is the driving force behind Colter’s mission as Season 3 begins.
