Triptii Dimri has officially replaced Deepika Padukone in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit, starring Prabhas. The announcement came after reports that Deepika exited the project due to unmet demands. Fans are calling this casting change “huge” for Triptii’s career.
The production house T-Series confirmed the news on Instagram. They shared a post welcoming Triptii to the film. The note read, “A powerful new on-screen pairing is here! We’re thrilled to welcome #TriptiDimri on board for our ambitious pan-world film #SPIRIT.” The film is set to begin shooting later this year.
Deepika Padukone was earlier linked to the project, marking her second collaboration with Prabhas after Kalki 2898 AD. However, reports suggest she left due to disagreements over work conditions. Sources claim she asked for an 8-hour workday, Rs 20 crore as fees, and refused to dub in Telugu. A source said, “As a new mother, it’s not unfair to ask for an 8-hour shift. Organizations are becoming more accommodating.”
Triptii Dimri gained fame after her role in Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Her performance earned her the title “national crush of India.” Fans are excited to see her reunite with Vanga in a bigger role. One fan wrote, “From a cameo to a female lead—go Triptii, kill it!” Another added, “This is unexpected but good for her!”
Prabhas plays a fierce cop in Spirit, which has a reported budget of Rs 400 crore. The film will release in nine languages, aiming for a global audience. Sandeep Reddy Vanga is known for hits like Kabir Singh and Animal, raising expectations for this project.
Deepika Padukone has moved on to another big project—AA22 x A6, a film with Allu Arjun and director Atlee. Reports say she chose this over Spirit as it’s being called one of India’s biggest event films.
Triptii Dimri has multiple projects lined up, including Dhadak 2, Arjun Ustara with Shahid Kapoor, and Animal Park with Ranbir Kapoor. Her casting in Spirit is seen as a major career boost.
“Still sinking in… So grateful to be trusted with this journey,” Triptii wrote on Instagram. Sandeep Reddy Vanga also confirmed her role, calling it “official.”
Fans are now debating if Triptii can match Deepika’s star power. Some see it as a smart move by Vanga to bring fresh energy, while others wonder if losing Deepika will affect the film’s appeal.
