A Risky Plan and a Heartfelt Confession
Episode 7 picks up with Tae-poong and Mi-seon desperate to ship their safety shoes to Mexico after their main shipping deal falls through. With help from currency trader Jeong Cha-ran, they meet a ship captain who was a friend of Tae-poong’s late father. The captain agrees to help, but their plan to hide the shoes under crates of fish and crabs is almost ruined when the police arrive for an inspection.
To distract the officers, Tae-poong creates a scene with a bag of flour, making it look like he was handling drugs. The chaotic act works, allowing the ship to leave safely. After successfully navigating this crisis and finally clearing his dangerous debt with a loan shark, a relieved Tae-poong walks Mi-seon home. It is in this quiet moment that he openly confesses his feelings for her, calling her “pretty” even when she is messy and angry. Mi-seon pretends to be surprised but is visibly happy about his confession.
A New Business Opportunity and Old-Fashioned Views
With their debts settled, the team at Typhoon Trading looks for a new product to sell. A meeting with a helmet manufacturer goes well, and Tae-poong, impressed with the product’s safety features, decides that Thailand is the ideal market for export. To help with the new venture, he brings back former employee Go Ma-jin, a talented salesman who has been struggling with unemployment.
The team travels to Thailand to partner with a local company run by Ma-jin’s cousin. However, the business trip is quickly marred by Ma-jin’s sexist behavior. He repeatedly tells Mi-seon to stay out of sales meetings, insisting that a woman has no place in that role. Despite his comments, Mi-seon maintains her professionalism and continues her work.
A Bribe Gone Wrong and an Unexpected Arrest
The situation in Thailand escalates when Ma-jin ignores Mi-seon’s objections and bribes a customs officer with $50. Later, the team attends a party at a nightclub in an attempt to network with a potential client. The evening is cut short when the police arrive and arrest Ma-jin for attempting to bribe a customs official, a serious crime in Thailand. This leaves Tae-poong and his team in a difficult legal situation that threatens to destroy their helmet business deal.
Despite the chaos, moments of connection continue to blossom between Tae-poong and Mi-seon. At the nightclub, Mi-seon wears a beautiful dress that leaves Tae-poong stunned. When she later steps outside because her feet hurt from her shoes, he follows her, and they share a sweet, private moment by the pool.
Tae-poong makes it clear that he likes her, calling Mi-seon “pretty” even when she’s all messy and looks mad.
The episodes end on a cliffhanger, with the team’s future in Thailand uncertain and their business ambitions hanging in the balance.
