The March 24, 2026 episode of Will Trent brought together the regular cast along with several guest stars for a case involving the Atlanta Symphony. Episode 12, titled “I Hear It Now, I Was Good,” aired on ABC and saw Will recovering from spider bites while searching for his missing uncle, as the rest of the team handled the murder of a symphony conductor.

The episode continued several ongoing storylines, including Amanda Wagner starting a new relationship and Franklin Wilks taking a larger role after being promoted to series regular this season.

Main Cast of Will Trent Season 4 Episode 12

The regular cast members who appeared in this episode include:

Ramón Rodríguez as Will Trent – The GBI special agent spends most of the episode recovering in bed after being bitten by venomous spiders. Despite his condition, he continues searching for his Uncle Antonio, who was taken by Adelaide, the daughter of serial killer James Ulster. Will also has a disturbing moment where he impersonates Ulster to get information from a suspect.

Erika Christensen as Angie Polaski – The Atlanta PD detective stays by Will’s side throughout the episode. She sleeps in a chair next to his hospital bed and later brings him dinner at his house. Their conversation about Adelaide’s childhood letters shows the deep connection they still share.

Iantha Richardson as Faith Mitchell – The GBI special agent works the symphony case alongside Ormewood and Franklin. She helps uncover evidence linking the victim to a trip to Cleveland and finds a cigarette with lipstick on it in his car.

Jake McLaughlin as Michael Ormewood – The Atlanta PD detective shows off his piano skills at the crime scene and works the conductor murder case. He also deals with Franklin’s emotional struggles throughout the investigation.

Sonja Sohn as Amanda Wagner – The GBI director attends group therapy and accepts a dinner invitation from Casey, a fellow survivor. The episode ends with Amanda lending Casey her gun after her ex throws a rock through the window.

Kevin Daniels as Franklin Wilks – The Atlanta PD homicide detective, now a series regular, takes a central role in this episode. He has a personal connection to the symphony case and deals with unresolved feelings for Leon, a former romantic interest. The episode reveals Franklin’s full first name is Benjamin.

Cora Lu Tran as Nico – Will’s non-binary pet sitter helps him tear up the kitchen floor at his house and goes to get paint samples.

Bluebell as Betty – Will’s loyal chihuahua appears throughout the episode, including in scenes at Will’s house.

Guest Stars and Recurring Cast

Several guest actors brought the symphony murder case and other storylines to life:

Greg Germann as James Ulster – The deceased serial killer appears as a hallucination in Will’s mind. He encourages Will to work the case rather than stay in bed and later appears during Will’s interrogation of a suspect.

Joshua Mikel as Jebediah Oswald – A suspect connected to Adelaide’s network. Will interrogates him while impersonating Ulster to get information about where Antonio is being held.

Zoe Lister-Jones as Claudia – The executive director of the Atlanta Symphony and a longtime friend of the murdered conductor. She asks the guest conductor to take over the evening’s performance.

Shaun MacLean as Leon – A trumpet player who had a past relationship with Franklin. He explains that the victim asked him to share Adderall and later has dinner with Franklin, where he explains why he stopped talking to him.

Grace Palmer as Layla – A musician who admits to having an intimate encounter with the victim. She tells the team the conductor’s composition was terrible and she was glad he took a trip to Ohio.

Melanie Brook as Pippa – The guest conductor who admits to cutting the strings on the victim’s piano after years of being belittled by him. She did not kill him but provides information about his behavior before his death.

Janina Gavankar as Casey – A woman Amanda meets in group therapy. She invites Amanda to dinner, and they become intimate. Her ex-boyfriend throws a rock through her window, leading Amanda to lend her a gun for protection.

Miguel Cohen as Dallas Mavery – Casey’s ex-boyfriend who is arrested by Amanda for violating the restraining order.

Ashley LeConte Campbell as Mona Trevens – Adelaide’s mother, who lives in a wheelchair and shows Will her daughter’s old room. Will finds letters from Adelaide asking for help that were returned unopened.

Adam Laborde as the motel manager who finds the conductor’s body.

Jake Boyd as Tom, a musician whose partner Layla had an encounter with the victim.

What Happened in the Symphony Case

The episode’s main case involved the murder of Ronaldo Benetti, a symphony conductor found dead in a budget motel. The team discovered he had been working on his first original composition and had disappeared for 24 hours before returning to Atlanta. The investigation revealed he had visited his old music school in Cleveland, where he checked out a thesis from 25 years ago.

The motive tied back to someone who simply wanted their music played properly after years of having their work stolen and ignored. The case gave Franklin a chance to show his musical knowledge and also forced him to confront his personal life when Leon, a man he had dated, turned out to be connected to the victim.

Amanda’s Storyline Takes a Turn

Amanda Wagner had a significant episode arc focused on her personal life. After attending group therapy, she accepted a dinner invitation from Casey. The two became intimate, but the evening turned violent when Casey’s ex-boyfriend threw a rock through her window. Amanda arrested the man but later gave Casey her gun for protection. The episode ended with a gunshot heard over the phone, setting up the next episode where Amanda will need help from Will and Faith.

Will’s Dark Moment

The most talked-about moment from the episode came when Will Trent impersonated James Ulster during an interrogation. Recovering from his injuries and desperate to find his uncle, Will channeled the serial killer’s mannerisms, speech patterns, and laugh. He criticized a suspect’s work as a “cheap knockoff” and gave him a “C minus,” convincing the man he was actually speaking to Ulster. The scene showed how deeply James Ulster’s presence still affects Will, even after his death.
