Netflix’s popular romance series is back with Anna Cathcart leading the ensemble, a major return from the To All the Boys movies, and several new faces joining the KISS campus for another semester of love triangles and self-discovery.
The second season of XO, Kitty arrived on January 16, 2025, bringing Kitty Song Covey back to the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS) after her dramatic expulsion. Following her breakup with Dae and her realization that she has feelings for Yuri, Kitty returns as a junior ready to reboot her life. But new roommates, a mysterious letter from her late mother, and a very public love confession from Min Ho guarantee that her “Kitty 2.0” plan is already failing .
The sophomore season expands the world of the To All the Boys spin-off with fresh characters, including a new antagonist and potential love interests. Here is the complete guide to every returning cast member and the new actors joining the show.
Anna Cathcart Leads the Ensemble as Kitty Song Covey
Anna Cathcart returns as the heart of the series, Katherine “Kitty” Song Covey. Now 16 years old and in her second semester at KISS, Kitty is trying to be less chaotic. She is newly single, openly bisexual, and determined to stop meddling in other people’s lives. Of course, she immediately discovers a new mystery involving her mother’s past that requires her detective skills .
Cathcart has played Kitty since the first To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film in 2018. The Canadian actress is also known for her roles in the Descendants franchise and Odd Squad. She has essentially grown up on screen playing this character.
Returning Main Cast Members at KISS
Choi Min-yeong is back as Dae Heon Kim. Kitty’s first love and long-distance boyfriend of four years, Dae and Kitty ended their relationship at the airport in the Season 1 finale. He enters the new season still carrying feelings for her but committed to keeping her in his life as a friend. Choi is a established actor in Korean dramas, with credits in Mr. Sunshine, Entertainer, and Twenty-Five Twenty-One. This marks his first major role in an American production .
Gia Kim reprises her role as Yuri Han. The wealthy, paparazzi-magnet daughter of Principal Lim and a powerful businessman, Yuri spent Season 1 in a fake relationship with Dae. Kitty developed a real crush on her. This season, Yuri’s girlfriend Juliana is back on campus, and all three are now roommates. Gia Kim, who grew up attending international schools in South Korea and Hong Kong, made her acting debut with this series .
Sang Heon Lee returns as Min Ho. The ultra-privileged son of a famous TV host, Min Ho spent the first season seemingly annoyed by Kitty. He shocked everyone—including himself—by confessing his love for her on the plane back to Los Angeles. This season, Min Ho faces the consequences of that confession while dealing with his complicated family dynamics. Sang Heon Lee made his acting debut in this role and previously appeared in the Gran Turismo film .
Anthony Keyvan is back as Quincy “Q” Shabazian. Kitty’s best friend and confidant, Q is one of the few openly gay students at KISS. Keyvan, who is half Iranian and half Filipino like his character, previously starred in Love, Victor on Hulu. He has emphasized how meaningful it is to play a character that reflects his own background .
Regan Aliyah returns as Juliana. Yuri’s girlfriend is no longer a secret, which means she and Yuri can finally be open about their relationship. This puts Kitty in an awkward position since she is still processing her feelings for Yuri. Aliyah previously appeared in Ironheart .
Peter Thurnwald is back as Alex Finnerty. The Australian teacher who bonded with Kitty over his search for his birth parents returns for another semester. Thurnwald is known for the Australian series Bump .
Michael K. Lee reprises his role as Professor Lee. The strict instructor with a hidden passion for music gets more screen time this season as he reconnects with his high school love, Principal Lim .
Other returning cast members include Philippe Lee as Mr. Moon, Jocelyn Shelfo as Madison, Han Bi Ryu as Eunice, Sunny Oh as Mihee, Tho Nguyen as Florian, and Hojo Shin as Jiwon .
Noah Centineo Makes a Surprise Return as Peter Kavinsky
Noah Centineo returns to the franchise as Peter Kavinsky. The beloved character from the To All the Boys movies appears in Season 2, marking his first time in the spin-off series. Centineo filmed scenes with Anna Cathcart, and the two shared screen time together again.
“Working with Anna again was amazing. She’s so wonderfully talented, and her work ethic shows in every scene. Stepping back into the To All the Boys universe was a true joy.” – Noah Centineo
His appearance connects the series directly to the original films and gives Kitty a link to her sister Lara Jean’s world.
New Cast Members Joining Season 2
Audrey Huynh joins the cast as Stella Cho (real name Esther Shim). Stella is Kitty’s new roommate from Ohio. She presents herself as a sweet, church-going transfer student. However, she is actually the main antagonist of the season. Years ago, she was humiliated on live television by Min Ho’s father during a talent show audition. She enrolled at KISS under a fake name to get close to Min Ho and destroy his father’s company. Huynh, who also plays young Stella in flashback scenes, described the role as her dream part .
“I have always wanted to play a role like this one, kind of that kind of villain, but not really villain, kind of character. Being able to bring Stella to life and just have a character that’s so different than who I am was so cool.” – Audrey Huynh
Sasha Bhasin appears as Praveena. A confident student whose parents work for the State Department, Praveena becomes a potential love interest for Kitty. The writers described her as “cool, confident, kind of ballsy.” Bhasin previously starred in Brave the Dark .
Joshua Lee joins as Jin. He is Q’s biggest competitor on the track team. His competitive edge quickly becomes intriguing to Q. Lee is known for the series Gangnam Project .
Additional New Faces for the Senior Year Arc
Recent Netflix announcements confirm additional casting for episodes that expand the KISS universe. Sule Thelwell joins as Marius, Soy Kim appears as Yisoo, and Christine Hwang is cast as Gigi. These characters become part of Kitty’s expanding circle during her second semester .
Where Are Lara Jean and Margot?
Lana Condor does not appear as Lara Jean Covey in Season 2. The original trilogy’s lead actress has not joined the spin-off series. Similarly, Janel Parrish as Margot is absent from the season. The show continues to focus exclusively on Kitty’s independent journey in South Korea, with only Peter Kavinsky bridging the gap between the films and the series .
