Netflix released all eight episodes of XO, Kitty Season 3 on April 2, 2026, and fans have been binge-watching to see how Kitty Song Covey‘s final year at the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS) plays out. The big question throughout the season has been whether Kitty and Min Ho would finally make their relationship official after three seasons of romantic tension.

Kitty and Min Ho Share Their First Kiss Early in Season 3

The showrunner Valentina Garza told Netflix’s Tudum that the couple’s appeal comes from how they challenge each other. “That’s something that people really admire about that relationship dynamic, and, of course, it’s just that classic will they, won’t they tension.”
The Couple Breaks Up Following a Major Misunderstanding
The happiness does not last. In Episode 6, Kitty assumes Min Ho lied to her about a situation involving their friend Eunice (Han Bi Ryu) . She thinks Min Ho got Eunice pregnant. But the truth is different. Eunice was never pregnant, and Min Ho never hooked up with her.
Min Ho feels hurt that Kitty did not trust him. For someone who keeps his guard up around others, this hits hard. Sang Heon Lee told Tudum, “It’s hard for me to even think about them going through a breakup. But I can definitely understand where Min Ho was coming from. He really tried to gain that trust from her.”
The breakup scene was one of the toughest for the actors to film. Anna Cathcart shared, “When we wrapped, we both had the longest hug, being like, ‘We did it. I’m so proud of you.’ To be this hurt and this deeply impacted was something that was new to explore for Kitty and Min Ho.”
The Season 3 Finale Brings a Romantic Airport Reunion
The ending pays tribute to the Season 1 finale. Back then, Min Ho confessed his feelings for Kitty at the airport, but the timing was not right. This time, things are different.
After realizing he cannot live without Kitty, Min Ho races to the airport to find her. He gives her a sincere apology and finally says the words fans have been waiting to hear.

Showrunner Valentina Garza explained, “We just thought it would be a really fun bookend for the season, to see them finally on the same page together and embracing whatever unknown the future holds for them.”
Anna Cathcart added, “It was such a crazy day, and it just all felt so right.”
Min Ho Writes a Song to Win Kitty Back
Before the airport reunion, Min Ho sends Kitty a text with an original song he wrote for her called “By My Side.” The song became available for download on music platforms on April 3, 2026. The lyrics include romantic lines like “the sun doesn’t rise without you.”
Sang Heon Lee said, “Sometimes there are things that you can’t describe properly, but he did that in a song.”
Garza noted that the song connects back to Kitty’s Senior Sunset list from earlier in the season. “Min Ho tried to make that a reality for her, but he’s realizing that without her there’s none of that excitement.”
Lara Jean Returns to Help Kitty Through the Breakup
Lana Condor returns as Lara Jean Song Covey, Kitty’s older sister from the To All The Boys movies. Lara Jean comes to Seoul to help Kitty get through her breakup and apply for early decision to New York University.
Garza explained, “Love is important, but at the end of the day, we have to look inside ourselves and figure out what it is just to take care of ourselves as a whole person. And there’s no one better to really help her with that than Lara Jean.”
However, fans noticed that Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo) are going through a rough patch themselves. One fan wrote on social media, “NETFLIX IS GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL WHAT DO YOU MEAN LARA JEAN AND PETER BROKE UP.”
Other Couples Also Get Happy Endings in Season 3
Q (Anthony Keyvan) and Jin (Joshua Lee) find their way back to each other. Q helps Marius, which becomes a bridge to mending things with Jin. Jin turns down the practical help but accepts the meaning behind it.
Dae (Choi Min-young) and Eunice get back together as well. Yuri (Gia Kim) and Juliana (Regan Aliyah) are still figuring things out after Juliana breaks up with Praveena.
Alex (Peter Thurnwald) and Kitty’s cousin Jiwon (Hojo Shin) are preparing for their baby.

After much thought, Kitty decides to attend New York University. She follows her heart rather than trying to logically choose between Seoul and NYU. Min Ho supports her decision, even though it means they will be in different countries.
During a slow dance at her surprise birthday party, Min Ho asks Kitty how she can choose between two tempting options. She tells him she simply followed her heart. Min Ho takes that advice to heart and uses it when he races to the airport.
