Prime Video has announced its new psychological thriller series 56 Days, starring Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia, will premiere on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. All eight episodes of the series, based on Catherine Ryan Howard’s bestselling novel, will be released globally in over 240 countries and territories.

The announcement, made on December 9, 2025, was accompanied by the first official images from the series. The project is a major collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Atomic Monster, the production company founded by horror specialist James Wan.

Worldwide Release Dates and Platforms

The series will have a unified global release. Subscribers worldwide will be able to stream all episodes starting on February 18, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video.

The streaming service has confirmed the series will be available in more than 240 countries and territories, ensuring a simultaneous launch for international audiences. This release strategy positions 56 Days as a binge-ready event for the platform.

Plot and Source Material

56 Days follows Oliver Kennedy (Avan Jogia) and Ciara Wyse (Dove Cameron), who begin an intense romantic relationship after a chance meeting in a supermarket. The story unfolds across two timelines.

The primary mystery begins 56 days later, when homicide investigators arrive at Oliver’s apartment to find an unidentifiable body that has been brutally murdered and intentionally left to decompose. The narrative intercuts between a single, intense day of police investigation in the present and the escalating, twisted trajectory of the couple’s affair in the past. The central question driving the thriller is: Did Oliver kill Ciara, or did Ciara kill Oliver?

The series is adapted from Irish author Catherine Ryan Howard’s 2021 novel of the same name. While the original book was set in Dublin during the COVID-19 lockdowns, the television adaptation will not take place during the pandemic. Howard serves as a co-executive producer on the series.

What to Expect and First-Look Images

The first promotional images released by Prime Video offer a glimpse into the series’ tone. The photos depict Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia as their characters, Ciara and Oliver, capturing moments of intimate connection that hint at the passionate and dangerous relationship at the story’s core.
