Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia star in a new thriller where a whirlwind romance turns deadly in under two months. 56 Days is based on the best-selling novel and comes from producer James Wan. All eight episodes will be available on February 18, 2026.
The series tells the story of Oliver Kennedy and Ciara Wyse. They meet by chance in a supermarket and fall for each other very fast. Their intense relationship takes a dark turn 56 days later when police find a brutally murdered body in Oliver’s apartment. The show jumps between the couple’s passionate past and the present-day investigation, making viewers ask one central question: who is the killer?
What is 56 Days About? The Plot and Story Details
The official description sets up a tense mystery. After a random meeting, Oliver and Ciara start a relationship that is both fast and dangerous. Just 56 days into their affair, homicide investigators are called to Oliver’s home. They discover a body that is not only murdered but has been intentionally left to decompose, making identification difficult.
“Did he kill her? Did she kill him? Intercutting between an intense single day in the present investigation and the twisted trajectory of the young loversโ affair in the past, the series is both a unique crime story and a riveting, sexy, psychological thriller.”
The story is adapted from Catherine Ryan Howard’s popular 2021 novel. In the book, the couple’s decision to move in together is directly linked to the start of a strict COVID-19 lockdown, which isolates them from the outside world and creates a pressure cooker for secrets. This claustrophobic setting from the novel adds a layer of tension that the show is expected to explore.
