Global hip-hop icon Kanye West, now known as Ye, is set to make his first-ever performance in India this May. The news comes as the rapper faces show cancellations in several other countries.
The Kanye West India debut concert will take place on May 23, 2026, at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Ye confirmed the details through an Instagram post, sharing a tour flyer with fans. The post read, โYe live in India New Delhi, 23 May 2026, 8PM, only performance in India. Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.โ
This performance marks a major moment for the Indian live music scene. The show was originally scheduled for March 29, 2026, but organisers moved the date due to the US-Iran conflict and regional tensions.
Why Kanye West Rescheduled His Delhi Concert
The postponement happened in March 2026. Organisers released a statement explaining the decision. โDue to the prevailing geopolitical situation and regional tensions, the Ye show in New Delhi will now be rescheduled to 23 May, 2026,โ the official notice said.
Before the delay, there were rumours that the concert might get cancelled. Some fans worried after another international act, Bahraini rapper Flipperachi, cancelled his India tour. However, sources from White Fox, the organising firm, had earlier confirmed that all plans remained on track.
All tickets bought for the original March date stay valid for the new May 23 date.
Global Show Cancellations and Controversies
Yeโs India concert is moving forward even as several of his European shows have been cancelled. Switzerland and Poland both dropped his scheduled performances. A Polish stadium cancelled his show days after he postponed a concert in France.
FC Basel in Switzerland also decided against letting Ye perform at their St. Jakob-Park ground after a detailed review. Earlier in April, Britain blocked the rapper from travelling to headline the Wireless Festival in London. The French interior minister is also looking at ways to stop his planned concert in Marseille on June 11.
These cancellations follow backlash over Yeโs past comments. He apologised in January 2026, saying his behaviour came from untreated bipolar disorder and renounced his past statements.
