Prime Video officially announced the release date for Every Year After, the upcoming romantic drama series based on Carley Fortune’s bestselling novel “Every Summer After.” The eight-episode series will arrive on the streaming platform June 10, 2026.
The show is an Amazon Original series that will be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world. The entire first season will drop all at once, so viewers can watch the complete story without waiting for weekly episodes.
What Is Every Year After About? The Story Behind the Series
The series follows a romantic story that takes place over six years and one week in Barry’s Bay, a small lake town. It tells the story of first loves and the choices that stay with people forever.
The show is based on Fortune’s novel “Every Summer After,” which spent 16 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list and has sold over 1 million copies worldwide. The book became very popular on BookTok, TikTok’s book community, where the hashtag received more than 81.4 million views.
The story follows Persephone “Percy” Fraser, who returns to the lake town where she spent six summers growing up. A phone call brings her back after twelve years away, forcing her to face the past and the people she left behind.
Who Stars in the Every Year After Cast?
Sadie Soverall plays the lead role of Persephone “Percy” Fraser. Soverall is known for her work in “Saltburn.”
Matt Cornett plays Sam, the male lead and Percy’s love interest. Cornett has appeared in “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” and “Summer of 69.”
Michael Bradway plays Charlie Florek, Sam’s brother. Bradway’s credits include “Chicago Fire” and “Marked Men.”
The supporting cast includes Elisha Cuthbert as Sue Florek, Aurora Perrineau as Chantal, Abigail Cowen as Delilah Mason, Joseph Chiu as Jordie, and Robyn Ross as Diane Fraser.
The show spans across six years, so the actors play their characters both as teenagers and in their late twenties and early thirties.
Trailer and First Look Released
Prime Video released the official trailer for the series on May 12, 2026. The trailer gives viewers a first look at the lakeside setting and the central romance between Percy and Sam.
The trailer shows Percy returning to Barry’s Bay after years away. She must face the memories of the summers she spent there and the boy she fell in love with. The trailer also reveals glimpses of the show’s emotional moments and the beautiful lake town setting.
