Good news for fans of the Gilead universe. Hulu has officially renewed The Testaments for a second season. The announcement came just days before the first season wraps up on May 27, 2026.
The renewal follows strong viewer numbers. The show crossed 45 million hours streamed globally across Hulu and Disney+. Critics have also given the series a solid 88 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Second Season Locked in for The Testaments on Hulu
Hulu shared the news on social media. The streaming service posted on its official Instagram account:
“A secret we couldn’t keep any longer. THE TESTAMENTS will be back for Season 2 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.”
The renewal came early. Hulu gave the green light before the Season 1 finale titled “Secateurs” airs on May 27. This quick decision shows the platform has strong faith in the show’s future.

Hulu has not announced a release date for season two yet. Production has not started filming as of now.
Early seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale came out about a year apart. But later seasons took longer breaks between releases. Fans should expect The Testaments season two to arrive sometime in the second half of 2027.
