The Prime Video series jumps ahead in the book series, putting Dean and Allie’s complicated romance at the center for the new season.
Prime Video’s college romance show Off Campus has started filming its second season today in Vancouver. The series became a massive hit after its first season arrived in May 2026, pulling in 36 million viewers within just 12 days. That made it the third-biggest series launch in the streaming platform’s history.
The new season brings a major change from Elle Kennedy’s original books. Instead of following the second book The Mistake, the show jumps straight to the third book The Score. This puts Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes as the main couple, played by Stephen Kalyn and Mika Abdalla.
Dean and Allie Take Center Stage With Darker Story
The first season focused on Hannah Wells (Ella Bright) and Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli). But viewers became hooked on the complicated connection between Dean, the hockey team’s confident playboy, and Allie, an aspiring actress recovering from a messy breakup.
Their story in season two gets much heavier than the first season. Dean’s fear of commitment comes from a toxic high school relationship that messed up how he sees love. Things get worse when Briar University hires a new hockey coach who has direct ties to that painful part of Dean’s past.
Both characters also face intense pressure from their families. Dean’s wealthy parents want him to quit hockey and become a lawyer. Allie quietly struggles under her own family’s demands about her future.
The Emotional Turning Point That Changes Everything
The most heartbreaking moment in The Score involves Beau Maxwell (Khobe Clarke), Dean’s childhood best friend, who dies in a car crash. This loss sends Dean into a dark place filled with heavy drinking and self-destruction, pushing his new relationship with Allie to its limit.
The show’s writers gave Beau more screen time in season one, connecting him to Allie and making him the brother of a theatre department star. That means his death will hit the entire friend group hard, not just Dean.
Hunter Davenport Twist Creates Major Love Triangle Drama
The season one finale introduced a love triangle that never happens in the books. Allie hooks up with a mystery man using a fake ID named Carter St. James V. That man turns out to be Hunter Davenport (Charlie Evans), a new hockey recruit who Dean already hates.

Hunter went to school with Dean’s sister Summer, creating bad blood before Allie ever got involved. When Dean called Allie to confess his feelings, she was literally in bed with Hunter. This creates jealousy, guilt, and bruised egos that fuel the entire second season.
Returning Cast and New Faces
Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli will return as Hannah and Garrett. Jalen Thomas Brooks, Julia Sarah Stone, and Khobe Clarke are also coming back. India Fowler joins the cast as Grace Ivers, who becomes John Logan’s love interest from the second book. Phillipa Soo, known for Hamilton, will play Scarlett, a guest director who shakes up Allie’s acting journey.
One character won’t be back. Showrunner Louisa Levy confirmed that Justin Kohl, played by Josh Heuston, does not appear in season two.

Filming Details and Release Timeline
Production runs from June 1 through September 18, 2026, in Vancouver. The University of British Columbia stands in for Briar University, even though the show is set in Boston. All eight scripts for season two were finished before season one even premiered.
Prime Video has not announced an official release date yet. But based on the first season’s timeline, the show will likely arrive around April or May 2027.
