More than eight years after the Naruto series ended, fans are still talking about the Second Hokage. Tobirama Senju often gets overlooked when people discuss the strongest leaders of the Hidden Leaf Village. His older brother Hashirama Senju, known as the “God of Shinobi,” usually takes all the spotlight. But a growing number of fans believe Tobirama deserves much more credit for shaping the ninja world.

Unlike his brother, Tobirama did not inherit any special bloodline limit or genetic advantage. He built everything through effort and strategic thinking. The Second Hokage created the Ninja Academy, the ANBU black ops unit, and the Chunin Exams. Other hidden villages copied these systems because they worked so well.

Fans online have debated this question for years. Some say the attack was a surprise ambush, leaving no time to mark locations for teleportation. Others argue that Tobirama was protecting his students, so running away was not an option. One common theory suggests the writers simply did not give his death scene enough attention compared to other major characters.
The Second Hokage’s tenure as leader lasted only about two years. That is one of the shortest Hokage terms in the village’s history, similar to Minato Namikaze. Despite serving for such a brief time, Tobirama’s impact on Konoha lasted for generations.
Tobirama returned during the Fourth Great Ninja War when Orochimaru reanimated the previous Hokage. He fought alongside Naruto, Sasuke Uchiha, and the other Kage against Madara Uchiha and Kaguya Otsutsuki. Even in death, the Second Hokage continued to protect the village he helped build.
