What Happened in Episode 1: The Tokyo Manji Gang Disbands

Episode 1, titled “Break Up,” opened right after the brutal end of the Tenjiku conflict. Izana Kurokawa was killed by a bullet from Tetta Kisaki, and Kisaki himself died after being hit by a truck. Takemichi then made a major decision: he told Mikey the full truth about his time-leaping ability and everything he had experienced across his jumps.

Mikey’s response was not what anyone expected. He decided to dissolve the Tokyo Manji Gang for good. The episode also showed Emma Sano’s funeral, with almost every Toman member in attendance.

After the gang’s end, Takemichi left the past behind and returned to the present day. He finally reached the future he had been fighting for: a world where Hinata Tachibana was alive and his friends were happy. But that perfect future did not hold together for long.

The core setup for the Three Titans arc is now in place. Three major gangs are fighting for control: the Tokyo Manji Gang led by Mikey, the Brahman gang led by Senju Kawaragi, and the Rokuhara Tandai led by South Terano. Takemichi’s final mission is to save Mikey from the darkness that has swallowed him in this timeline.

The official synopsis for the season explains that after hearing the full truth behind the time leaps, Mikey made a decision that changed everything. Now Takemichi must go back into the conflict once more.
