‘Scary Movie 6’ hit theaters on June 5, 2026, and while the box office numbers looked strong, not everyone is laughing. YouTuber Nick White went on a livestream and gave the film a brutal review, saying it was the worst movie he had ever seen. He specifically called out streamer Kai Cenat for ruining the franchise.
The movie opened with $55 million in the domestic box office and $105 million globally. Those numbers are actually the best in the entire history of the ‘Scary Movie’ series. But the money did not match the critics’ opinions. Review sites like Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic showed negative ratings, and now Nick White is adding his voice to the criticism.
Nick White’s Harsh Review: ‘I Had to Leave After 40 Minutes’
Nick White did not hold back during his livestream when talking about his experience watching the new comedy horror film.
“Last Night, I went to the new Scary Movie. And it was the worst thing I’ve ever seen. I had to leave and walk out within 40 minutes from how bad it was. It was woke. It was appealing to not offending people. And it was cringe. And I could have damn well told you that the second I saw Kai Cenat in the trailer. That was a**.”
The YouTuber continued to explain why the jokes did not work for him. He said the humor felt “tame” and that the writers seemed scared to offend anyone. He gave an example involving a trans character, saying the joke was so soft that it was completely unfunny.
He placed a large part of the blame on Kai Cenat, the popular Twitch streamer who joined the cast. Nick White argued that seeing Cenat in the trailer was a warning sign that the movie would be bad.
How Kai Cenat Ended Up in the Movie
Kai Cenat’s role in ‘Scary Movie 6’ did not happen by accident. The streamer had been trying to get into the franchise for a while.
Back in November 2024, during his Mafiathon 2 subathon event, Cenat told his viewers that he had asked Marlon Wayans for a part. Cenat shared that Wayans told him, “Say less. You may get that call.” The streamer was excited about the idea, telling his chat that the movie would be “stoompid.”
Marlon Wayans later confirmed that Cenat had asked for a role. During an interview on Complex’s GOAT Talk in 2025, Wayans joked about the situation. When asked about Cenat, Wayans said, “I asked Kai Cenat, ‘Yo, hook me up.’ He was like, ‘I’ll hook you up. You put me in Scary Movie.’ I was like, ‘I’mma kill you for that.’”
The Original Cast Returns After 13 Years
‘Scary Movie 6’ brought back many stars from the earlier films. Regina Hall and Anna Faris returned as Brenda and Cindy. The Wayans brothers also came back, with Marlon Wayans playing Shorty and Shawn Wayans playing Ray. Marlon Wayans said the team was going for an R rating and promised the same fun and tone as the first movie.
Anna Faris spoke about the reunion in April 2026, saying, “For all of us to be back together, for me, it felt like such a victory.” Other returning actors included Dave Sheridan as Doofy, Cheri Oteri as Gail Hailstorm, Lochlyn Munro as Greg, Chris Elliot as Hanson, and Jon Abrahams as Bobby Prinze. Carmen Electra also made a cameo as a bartender.
Fan Reactions and Mixed Feelings Online
The response to Nick White’s comments has been divided. Some fans agree with him, while others think he is being too harsh.
On social media, one user wrote, “Kai Cenat X Scary Movie 6 Collab sounds legendary lowkey,” showing support for the streamer’s involvement. Another fan expressed how far Cenat has come, saying, “Kai came a long way bro. This is crazy to see.”
But others shared Nick White’s worries. One fan joked about being worried about a “Kai Cenat jumpscare” in the movie. The discussion shows a split between Cenat’s large online fan base and older fans of the franchise who wanted a more traditional sequel.
