Apple TV’s dark comedy series Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed dropped its fifth episode on June 10, 2026, and things got very messy for Paula. What started as a simple meeting to ask questions quickly turned into a hostage situation, a murder, and another big problem for the already struggling divorced mom.
The episode, titled “Scamboy,” shows Paula sinking deeper into trouble. Her search for the truth about Trevor’s death put her in the crosshairs of a killer. Instead of finding answers, she ended up running for her life.
Paula Walks Into a Trap at the Abandoned Motel
Following a tip, Paula went to meet Skylar (Sky) , a friend of Trevor’s from his online work. Her coworkers Rudy and Geri warned her it was a bad idea to go to a run-down motel. But Paula felt she had no choice. The police still looked at her as a suspect in Trevor’s murder. She needed to find the real killer herself.
When Paula got to the motel, she finally met Sky. He told her that the attack she saw on video was just a trick to make money. Trevor, Sky, and Ash were planning to turn the old motel into housing for college students. Trevor’s death left their money plans in ruins.
But the conversation took a sharp turn. Paula looked closely at Sky and realized he was the person from the fake attack video. When she described the killer’s red boots, Red Wings , Sky and Ash understood right away. They knew the murderer was Dennis .
Trevor had told them before that Dennis would kill him if he ever found out about their secret money schemes. Suddenly, Paula was no longer a visitor asking questions. She was a prisoner.
Ash pulled out a gun and held Paula at gunpoint. Instead of helping Paula, Ash saw a way to make money. She called Dennis using a voice changer. She offered to sell Paula to him for $20,000 . Dennis agreed and sent half the money right away.
Dennis Kills Sky in a Brutal Attack
Paula did not wait to be handed over. During the struggle, she grabbed a nail gun. She fought back and managed to nail Sky’s hand to the floor . She then ran out and escaped in her car.
Ash was terrified for her friend. She went to her car, planning to drive Sky to the hospital. But by then, Dennis had already arrived at the motel for the exchange.
Ash called Sky on the phone to warn him. Sky told her not to worry. He still had a gun and believed he could win. He shot several times through the door, hoping to kill Dennis. Thinking Dennis was dead or hurt, Sky pulled his hand free from the nail. He opened the door to check.
But Dennis was waiting for him. Using a foam sprayer, Dennis choked Sky to death. Ash heard the whole thing happen on the phone. She listened as her friend begged for his life and then went silent.
A Mysterious Stranger Starts Following Paula
The trouble did not end with Sky’s death. Detective Baxter found out that Trevor had been buying a lot of construction supplies. He tracked the deliveries to the same abandoned motel. The police are now on their way to what has become a new crime scene. If they find Paula’s car on any cameras, she will look even more guilty.
To make things worse, someone new is watching Paula. The final moments of the episode show a man sitting in a car. He is taking pictures of Paula with a camera. It looks like a private investigator. The most likely reason is that Mallory , Karl’s new wife, hired him. Mallory is fighting Paula for custody of the kids. She wants to prove Paula is an unfit mother.
Selling Sky’s necklace at a pawn shop may also cause big problems for Paula. She needed the cash. But the police may see it as her trying to get rid of evidence. The custody battle, the police investigation, and a killer who wants her dead are all closing in on Paula at the same time.
