General Hospital has always kept viewers guessing with characters who walk the line between good and evil. The ABC soap opera’s current storylines are pushing several residents of Port Charles toward unexpected changes. Some familiar faces may cross over to the dark side, while others might surprise everyone by stepping up as heroes. The twists in recent episodes have set the stage for major transformations.

Potential Villains in Port Charles

Michael Corinthos

Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) has always had a strong sense of right and wrong. He has even stood up to his adoptive father, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), when he felt justice was needed. But his recent actions show a much darker side emerging.

Michael’s desperate need to get back at his ex-wife, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), while keeping his image as a forgiving husband, has turned him into a schemer. He is now plotting to use his brother-in-law, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), as bait toward Willow. He knows this could destroy his sister’s marriage, but he seems willing to go to any length to make his plan work. The character has previously shown a thirst for revenge when wronged, and he is known for being more methodical than his father in going after what his enemies love most.

Curtis Ashford

Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) has always been a morally straight private investigator turned businessman. He built his reputation on a strong sense of justice and a deep dislike for lies and secrets. But this hatred for secrecy has become his weakness.

His obsession with the car accident that hurt Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) led him to investigate other drivers on the road. When Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) refused to share his destination, Curtis assumed the doctor was hiding something and must be the culprit. Unable to pin the blame on Isaiah, who is dating Curtis’s ex-wife Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), Curtis attacked the surgeon. The assault left Isaiah with multiple fractures in his active hand. If the law catches up with Curtis, he could end up in prison. He may take this obsession even further to try and destroy Isaiah.

Jacinda Bracken

Escort Jacinda Bracken was originally a minor character used by Nina (Cynthia Watros) to embarrass Congressman Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). She came into focus when she became Michael’s fake alibi for the Drew shooting case. Viewers then saw Michael and Jacinda grow closer in a real romance as she bonded with little Wiley (Viron Weaver).

But a recent episode on Thursday, June 18, 2026, showed Jacinda calling Councilman Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) to meet him at his room. Instead of Jacinda, mobster Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) showed up to meet Ezra. This hints at a secret connection between Jacinda and Sidwell that has stayed hidden. Her ability to keep secrets while placing herself in the Quartermaine and Corinthos households makes her more dangerous than anyone expected.

Ethan Lovett

Since his early days in Port Charles, Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) showed the reckless qualities of his father, Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary). This always pushed Ethan to walk the line on the wrong side of the law. His recent return to town has given many clues that he might be playing an anti-hero role.

His secrecy about baby Phoebe and her adoption seemed too complex. He only revealed his connection after getting caught. His insistence on a closed adoption seemed questionable. His sudden need for money and a job from Sonny may not be completely honest. As a former con-artist, Ethan could have other plans. He also swapped his DNA sample with another, which raises major concerns.

Brook Lynn Quartermaine

Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) is a straight-talking, true Quartermaine who will do anything to protect her family. She has been a good wife to Chase and dreams of being a good mother to Phoebe. But recent events could shatter her dreams.

With Michael setting up close interactions between Willow and BLQ’s husband, Chase, her marriage could be in danger. Willow is building a reputation for going after men for her own gain. If Chase gets pulled into Willow’s orbit, BLQ could lose her chance to adopt Phoebe. In her desperation to keep Willow away, Brook Lynn might turn to approaches that are not quite legal.

Potential Heroes in Port Charles

Valentin Cassadine

As a Cassadine, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) was known as a ruthless operator who held long grudges. His connection to the Pikeman Group and his time as a rogue WSB agent made him very dangerous. But his relationship with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) showed a more understanding side.

His immense love for his daughter, Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke), has softened him in recent years. He is ready to go to any length to protect her. His recent partnership with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) brought them together in a new romance. When they faced a common enemy in WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), Carly discovered her daughter was being held hostage at Wyndemere. Valentin offered to surrender himself to expose Cullum and stop his evil actions. This big self-sacrifice makes him a hero.

Ava Jerome

Coming from the criminal Jerome family, Ava (Maura West) has all the traits of a villain. Over the years, viewers have seen her involved in many crimes, from art forgery and extortion to murder. She is also fighting a long custody battle with Sonny over their daughter.

But she is a very protective mother. While she lost her daughter Kiki (Hayley Erin) to crime, her fierce attitude toward protecting Avery changed how people saw her. Her recent change into a softer version of herself has taken fans by surprise. She helped rescue Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Charlotte from Cullum. She helped Alexis look for baby Phoebe’s family. She also agreed to stay quiet about Phoebe’s connection with Ethan. She may continue to surprise viewers by playing a good character.

Jack Brennan

Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) has been a smooth-talking WSB chief whose Pikeman connections made him a pseudo-villain. But after coming to Port Charles, he developed a real weakness: he genuinely fell in love with Carly. Although he kept it a secret that he recruited her daughter as a WSB agent, he remained worried about Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy) safety.

He is hurt by Carly’s rejection and outsmarted by his boss, Ross Cullum. Suspicious of Cullum, Brennan tried to get information on him but failed. A scuffle with Valentin landed him in a medically-induced paralysis. Almost out of it, Brennan communicated to Valentin the next steps needed to save Port Charles. The upcoming story may see Brennan working with his nemesis, Valentin, to take down Cullum and save Josslyn. This will be his chance to be a hero for the town and for Carly.

Charlotte Cassadine

Valentin’s daughter, Charlotte, has all the Cassadine qualities. She is brave and headstrong. As a young child, she was a bully who troubled her peers. She was often used as a pawn by adults. But over the years, she received much love from her father.

While she couldn’t form a bond with her over-protective mother, the teenager has learned from the consequences of her family’s bad actions. Back in town, she has bonded with her brother, Rocco, Danny, and other teens. With the right connections, she may eventually side with the good. She currently plans to defy her father’s advice and stop Cullum’s evil actions. She wants to fight to give Danny’s father justice while keeping her own father out of prison.

Lucas Jones

Dr. Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) has been the surprise hero in the current storyline. While he is a pure-hearted and morally upright doctor, he has purposely stayed away from the crime world. But his recent heroic actions come from a vigilante move out of his comfort zone.

Lucas found love in Marco Rios (Adrian Achondo) and moved in with him at Wyndemere. Marco’s brutal death left him distraught and seeking revenge. Lucas stepped away from his passive doctor role to place his life as bait to catch Sidwell. He came forward for the sting operation, driven by love and loss. Knowing his life was in danger, Lucas made a great sacrifice. This proves his heroic capabilities and sets him up as someone who could become a true hero for Port Charles. The character has been described by his portrayer as someone who may be tested to stay out of the catacombs, hinting at a continued battle between danger and his desire for a normal life.
