The world of streaming is about to witness a powerful reunion. Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour, the beloved on-screen father-daughter duo from the global phenomenon Stranger Things, are set to star together in a brand-new series for Netflix. The untitled project is a father-daughter espionage thriller from Jack Thorne, the co-creator of the hit series Adolescence.
The show has received a straight-to-series order from the streamer and will be produced in collaboration with A24. This marks a significant reunion, bringing together two of Netflix’s biggest stars with the creator of one of its most talked-about recent hits.
A New Father-Daughter Dynamic in a Spy Thriller
The upcoming series will see Harbour and Brown once again portray a father-daughter pair, reminiscent of the bond between Jim Hopper and Eleven in Stranger Things. However, the new project will place them in a very different, high-stakes scenario.
According to the official logline, David Harbour will play Matt Wolfe, a “disgraced FBI agent turned security expert.” His estranged daughter, Rebecca, played by Millie Bobby Brown, is an FBI agent determined to follow in his footsteps. The plot kicks into gear when Rebecca “vanishes on a mission,” forcing Matt to return to the dangerous world he left behind. The series is said to be loosely based on Paul Warner’s debut novel A Spy in the Blood.
The project brings together some of the biggest creative forces in entertainment. Jack Thorne, who co-created the Emmy-winning limited series Adolescence, will write and executive produce the series. This reunion also marks another collaboration between Thorne and Brown, as he wrote the scripts for the Enola Holmes films in which she stars.
Jinny Howe, Netflix’s Head of Scripted Series, US and Canada, expressed her enthusiasm: “We are delighted to bring this spy drama to life with an extraordinary group of talent we’ve been fortunate to collaborate with before. Jack Thorne’s ability to find the deeply human story inside a thriller is unmatched, and watching Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour reunite โ this time as estranged father and daughter on opposite sides of a crisis โ is something audiences are going to love.”

Behind the Scenes and Future Projects
Both actors have been teasing this collaboration for weeks. During an interview with Variety, Harbour hinted at more projects with Brown, stating, “You’ll see more of me and Millie. 10 years wasn’t enough. There is a special bond there. I love her, she loves me.” Brown also praised Harbour for initiating their reunion, telling the Happy Sad Confused podcast, “Father-daughter is where we live, but Netflix will always be our home. The David Harbour project is sooner than expected, and it’s David’s idea, so kudos to him.”
The announcement comes after reports of tension between the two actors during the production of the final season of Stranger Things. They have both since addressed the speculation, with Harbour describing it as a “rupture-and-repair thing” and confirming they are “fine.” This new project solidifies their professional relationship moving forward.
In addition to starring, both Brown and Harbour will also serve as executive producers on the series. While the project has been given a green light, a release date has not yet been announced.
