The new season of Lock Upp has only just started, but it is already delivering non-stop drama. The reality show, which premiered on Netflix on June 27, 2026, has viewers talking. While the show features many celebrities, one contestant is getting all the attention for the wrong reasons. Actor Ram Kapoor is facing heavy criticism online. Viewers are unhappy with how he behaved during a recent task. Many are calling his actions “entitled” and saying he tried to stop the game when his demands were not met.
What Happened During the Lock Upp Task
The drama happened during the first major task of the season. The task was an immunity challenge. In this challenge, two safe contestants, Harshad Chopra and Akanksha Chamola, were given paintball guns. Their job was to shoot at the other contestants. The unsafe contestants had to run to a buzzer without getting hit. If they succeeded, they would be safe from elimination that week.
Ram Kapoor took his turn in the task but did not reach safety. After his turn, he started asking for water. He told the show’s host and jailer, Riteish Deshmukh, that he needed water. He said, “I have been asking for water for a long time, you guys are making us do this not giving water, it’s not right. Send water.”
The water did not come right away. As the task continued, Ram Kapoor became more frustrated. He walked into the middle of the task area. By doing this, he stopped the game completely. The other contestants could not continue the challenge. He refused to move until his request was fulfilled.
Riteish Deshmukh Explains the Rules
Riteish Deshmukh tried to handle the situation calmly. He warned Ram Kapoor that he could get hit by a paintball if he stayed in the middle of the field. Ram Kapoor did not seem to care. He replied, “lagane do, aajao maaro,” which means “let it hit, come hit me.”
Riteish then explained the rules more clearly. He told Ram Kapoor that every contestant had been given a personal water bottle. He said it was each contestant’s own responsibility to carry their bottle during the tasks. After hearing this explanation, Ram Kapoor finally stepped aside. The task was then able to resume.
Internet Reacts Strongly to Ram Kapoor’s Behavior
As soon as the episode aired, clips of the incident spread fast on social media. Viewers were not happy with how Ram Kapoor acted. Many people felt he was being difficult and expecting special treatment. The criticism was loud and clear.
A lot of the comments compared his behavior to what might happen on another popular reality show, Bigg Boss, which is hosted by Salman Khan. Many viewers felt that Ram Kapoor would not have acted this way if Salman Khan was the host. One user wrote, “he wouldn’t dare to do all this infront of Salman Khan.” Another comment said, “Yeh Salman ke samne keray yeh sabe tab maza hai” (It would be fun to see him do this in front of Salman).
Other comments were direct in their criticism of his attitude. One person said, “This was so embarrassing, pure entitled behaviour.” Another viewer asked, “Why is he overacting so much?” Some even questioned why he thought he deserved special care, with one user commenting, “Maybe he forgot he is in Lock Upp, why would he get any special treatment?”
This is Not Ram Kapoor’s First Controversy on the Show
This is the second time Ram Kapoor has come under fire since entering the Lock Upp house. Earlier in the season, he faced backlash for defending past remarks. He had previously compared his busy promotional schedule to feeling gang-raped. He called these comments his “sense of humour.”
Fellow contestant Shreya Kalra called him out for this. She told him that making jokes about gang rape was not acceptable. However, Ram Kapoor brushed off her criticism. He said he was still learning from his mistakes and would continue to do so. His response did not go down well with the public. Many viewers supported Shreya for confronting him. They felt Ram Kapoor was not taking the issue seriously enough.
