Episode 7 Recap: “What Else Can You Do?”
The previous episode, “What Else Can You Do?” , aired on July 31, 2026. It delivered the major confrontation that many viewers expected from the finale, even though one episode remained.
The episode began with John Sugar (Colin Farrell) crawling out of a wrecked car. The story then moved back two days to explain how he ended up in the crash. Danny Moon (Jin Ha) remained in police custody, while his brother Ji Moon (Raymond Lee) hid with Val (Sasha Calle). Lieutenant Ray Vega (Tony Dalton) planned to use Danny as leverage, leaving Sugar with few options to protect both brothers.

With his leverage gone, Sugar prepared a more dangerous solution. He first offered Vega new identities for him and his family, allowing them to leave the country safely. Vega refused the deal because he believed he still controlled the situation.
Val later told Sugar that Ji had disappeared. Vega secretly listened to their conversation through a bug, though Sugar already knew Vega was monitoring him. Ji then called Vega and offered to surrender in exchange for Danny. Vega accepted and took Danny to a remote desert location.
When Vega returned to his vehicle after finding the meeting point empty, he discovered that Sugar had replaced Danny in the back seat. Sugar attacked Vega while he was driving, causing the crash shown at the beginning. Both men survived, leading to a violent fight beside the wreckage. Sugar eventually choked Vega to death, ending the season’s central criminal conflict. Danny and Ji then reunited safely.
The episode also revealed new information about the four-circle symbol. Stanley (Bernard White) told Sugar that the symbol connected to tropospheric nodes designed to repair the climate. The technology was linked to Senator Pavich, opening another mystery before the finale.
Charlotte (Laura Donnelly) comforted Sugar after Vega’s death, but her interest in him and his emotional decline could hide another motive. Sugar also struggled with the moral weight of what he had done, visited by visions of Peggy (Laura San Giacomo), a fellow visitor who had gone down a similar path.
