What Happens in Episode 1
Episode 1 introduces Satou Takahiro, a 27-year-old network administrator from Hokkaido, Japan, who spent his free time playing the space combat game Stella Online. He was skilled enough to reach the top 10 of the game’s leaderboard. After going to sleep one night, he woke up in a cold room and discovered he was inside the cockpit of the ASX-08 Krishna, a powerful starship from Stella Online.
At first, Takahiro thought it might be a lucid dream, but the cold temperature of the room convinced him it was real. Space pirates attacked almost immediately. Using his gaming experience, he eliminated them quickly and set course for the nearest star system, Tarmein System.
Arriving at Tarmein Prime, Takahiro learned his name data was corrupted and decided to go by Hiro in this new world. He was taken in for questioning because his cargo contained a large amount of rare metals. Lieutenant Colonel Serena Holz, the daughter of a marquis, arrived and cleared him of any wrongdoing. She also warned him about staff members who were demanding bribes from incoming ships and asked him to report anything he learned. Hiro told her he had memory loss to avoid suspicion.
