Tom Holland’s latest superhero outing has shattered every box office record in India. Spider-Man: Brand New Day released in theatres on July 30, 2026 in India and has delivered a historic performance that no Hollywood film has ever achieved before.
The movie became the first Hollywood film to gross more than Rs 300 crore in India during its opening weekend. This milestone came just four days after its theatrical debut, with Sunday collections pushing the total gross beyond the record mark.
Box Office Numbers From Day 4
Trade tracker Sacnilk reported that Spider-Man: Brand New Day earned Rs 76 crore net on its fourth day (Sunday, August 2). The film played across 18,051 shows across India.
The day-wise collection breakdown shows consistent growth throughout the extended weekend:
- Thursday (Day 1): Rs 60.60 crore
- Friday (Day 2): Rs 49.35 crore
- Saturday (Day 3): Rs 70.25 crore
- Sunday (Day 4): Rs 76 crore
Sunday’s collection marked an 8.2% increase over Saturday’s numbers. The film’s total net collection in India reached Rs 256.20 crore, while the gross collection crossed Rs 306.37 crore.
Language Versions Perform Strongly Across India
The film’s success was not limited to English-speaking audiences. The dubbed versions delivered remarkable numbers across the country.
On Sunday, the English version earned Rs 40 crore with an overall occupancy of 67%. The Hindi dubbed version collected Rs 29 crore and recorded an outstanding 95% occupancy.
Among the southern language versions:
- Tamil version added Rs 3.55 crore with 82% occupancy
- Telugu version contributed Rs 3.25 crore at 57% occupancy
- Kannada and Malayalam versions added approximately Rs 0.10 crore each
The strong Hindi version performance shows Spider-Man’s appeal now reaches far beyond metro cities and has connected with audiences across Hindi-speaking regions.
How It Compares to Other Marvel Releases
Spider-Man: Brand New Day outperformed recent Marvel releases by a massive margin.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps earned just Rs 2.07 crore net after Day 4 across 3,995 shows. Its total net collection stood at Rs 22.17 crore, with a gross of Rs 26.50 crore after four days.
Thunderbolts performed even worse, earning only Rs 3.19 crore net after Day 4 across 3,450 shows. The film’s total net collection was Rs 12.05 crore, with a gross of Rs 14.40 crore.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day surpassed the lifetime India net collections of both these movies within the first day of its release.
When compared to other Hollywood opening weekends in India, the achievement stands out even more:
- Avengers: Endgame earned Rs 158.65 crore in three days
- Avatar: The Way of Water collected Rs 157.13 crore
Spider-Man: Brand New Day recorded the biggest opening weekend ever for a Hollywood film in India, surpassing Avengers: Endgame (Rs 158.15 crore) by a margin of Rs 99.45 crore.
Global Performance and Box Office Records
The film performed exceptionally well internationally as well. According to American trade estimates, Spider-Man: Brand New Day earned approximately USD 355 million domestically and USD 572 million from international markets.
The global opening total reached USD 927 million during the opening weekend. This makes it one of the largest global openings in box office history, second only to Avengers: Endgame.
The film fell just short of overtaking Avengers: Endgame in the US by approximately USD 2 million. However, it surpassed Spider-Man: No Way Home’s opening weekend by around USD 95 million.
In Australia, the film recorded the biggest opening weekend of 2026, earning USD 30.4 million. China led international markets with USD 121 million in ticket sales.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day became a victim of online piracy just two days after its theatrical release. A high-quality pirated copy surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) and spread rapidly before being removed.
According to Variety, the leaked version was uploaded by an X account named Fredrick Bryan at 6:05 a.m. PT. Before it was taken down around 3:25 p.m. PT, the post reached nearly 5.9 million accounts. It received over 143,000 likes and was reshared more than 10,000 times.
Despite removal efforts, pirated versions continued to appear online as fresh uploads replaced the ones that were taken down.
