Netflix posted a cast photo for Grown Ups 3 on August 6, 2026, and the internet reacted quickly. A third person added: “Has Rob Schneider been in anything remotely close to watchable in the last decade? Not a shot I’ll watch this”.
The criticism went beyond just disliking his comedy. One user called him a “hate monger, conspiracy theorist, racist, and homophobic”. Another said it was “gross” to cast someone “so openly against people’s rights and pro-MAGA propaganda”. Netflix, Adam Sandler, and Schneider have not responded to the backlash.
Rob Schneider’s Political Journey
Schneider, now 62, wasn’t always a Republican. He supported the Democratic Party from 1984 until 2013, when he switched sides. At the time, he said: “The state of California is a mess, and the supermajority of Democrats is not working”.
In the 2024 presidential race, he first backed independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. But when Kennedy dropped out, Schneider switched to Donald Trump. He had previously called Trump “undisciplined” but later said: “The Democrats aren’t for anything”.
Recent Controversies
Schneider has faced backlash before. In March 2026, he tweeted that every American should be required to serve two years in the military at age 18. Critics pointed out that Schneider himself never served, spending his young adult years acting and doing comedy instead.
A PR specialist named Ryan McCormick, who had previously praised Schneider as a “nice guy,” said he could no longer support him after that tweet.
