Arslan Goni and Kushal Tandon‘s friendship turned into one of the most talked-about conflicts on the reality show Alliance. Now that the show has ended, Arslan is finally sharing what really happened between them and where they stand today.
The actor, who became a household name after his stint on the reality show, spoke exclusively to Hindustan Times about his equation with Kushal post their much-discussed clash. He made it clear that there is no lasting bad blood between them.
Arslan described the experience on Alliance as a huge learning curve. He said those 42 days taught him things he hadn’t learned in his entire lifetime. He mentioned how people often take things for granted and that the show made him realise nothing is truly in your control.
The Fight That Became a Major Highlight
Arslan and Kushal entered the show as each other’s allies. But everything changed when Arslan’s brother, Aly Goni, entered as a wildcard contestant. The dynamics inside the house shifted, and soon after, Arslan and Kushal had a major fallout.
Reflecting on the situation, Arslan pointed out that viewers only see a small part of what actually happens inside the house. “What the audience is seeing is just half an hour of 24 hours that we have lived through,” he explained.
He also addressed the irony of the situation. While the public praised him for handling things with dignity, he was also the one who had the biggest fight of the entire season.
Arslan revealed that when Aly entered, there were several factors at play. Many people in the house were against Kushal, and Arslan found himself caught in the middle. He admitted that he had given Kushal a lot of freedom, which led others to believe that both of them were working together.
Clearing the Air About Aly Goni’s Influence
There were speculations that Aly Goni’s entry as a wildcard influenced Arslan’s bond with Kushal. But Arslan denied this completely.
He said that Aly and Kushal hadn’t even fought by that time. He also shared that he had personally spoken to Kushal about sitting down with Aly to sort things out. Arslan mentioned that he wasn’t sure if those conversations were shown on air.
The actor also dismissed claims that other contestants influenced him. He said that while many people in the house didn’t like Kushal, and he was friends with them, they didn’t have that much power over him. He even joked that if anyone could have influenced him, Ruhee Dosani would have done it in the very first week.
The Toughest Week Inside the House
Arslan admitted that the third week was the hardest for him. He was mentally drained during that time. He clarified that he didn’t suddenly become influenced by anyone. It was simply the state of mind he was going through at that point.
He made it clear that he wasn’t blaming anyone for what happened, not even his brother Aly. He said all of them collectively didn’t like Kushal, but that wasn’t the reason for his actions.
Have Arslan and Kushal Spoken Since the Show Ended?
When asked about his current equation with Kushal, Arslan gave an honest answer. He revealed that he hasn’t consciously spoken to Kushal since the show ended.
But he quickly added that there is no serious issue between them. “It’s not been a conscious effort but I’m sure that aisa kuch bada hai bhi nahi. We did a show and you move on, aisi koi khandaani dushmani thodi hai,” he told Hindustan Times.
He also mentioned that they weren’t really “friends” before coming on the show, which puts their relationship in a different perspective.
“There is no end to any friendship; it was not that serious. But yes, I will know him forever now; that is going to be part of it. There is no khandaani dushmani (family enmity), it was just a show.”
Arslan made it clear that their fallout was part of the game and not the end of their friendship. He even joked that with Bigg Boss coming up with new contestants, people would eventually forget about this whole thing.
What Really Caused the Fallout?
The tension between Arslan and Kushal stemmed from growing differences over gameplay, trust, and accountability. Their disagreements continued in later episodes, with Kushal trying to clear the air multiple times. But their conversations often turned into heated arguments.
At one point, Kushal said, “The biggest mistake I made is coming on this show with Arsalan Goni,” while Arslan maintained that they simply had different approaches to the game.
The two eventually shared a hug after one conversation, but Arslan later admitted that he still needed time to completely move past the fallout.
Arslan Also Addresses Sohail Khan Rumours
Apart from the Kushal Tandon situation, Arslan also addressed speculation that Sohail Khan was upset with him during the show. The rumours started after Sohail broke down in one of the episodes.
Arslan clarified that there was no such issue. He said he asked Sohail directly in front of everyone, and Sohail told him that someone had said Arslan was planning to take Seema out in the third week. Arslan said he had no idea where that came from and called it all “Chinese whispers”.
He made it clear that he doesn’t care about such rumours and that there was no real problem between him and Sohail.
About Aly Goni Overshadowing His Game
Many viewers felt that Aly Goni’s entry completely changed the dynamics inside the house and overshadowed Arslan’s game. But Arslan had a different take.
He said he never looked at his brother as competition. Instead, he felt that Aly overshadowed the entire house, not just his game. Arslan said he is proud of his brother and praised his understanding of reality television.
He also admitted that if he and Aly had entered as original allies instead of Aly joining later, they would have done far better because they would have been in the same boat from the beginning.
