Story So Far
The anime is based on the manga by Otsuji, which began serialization on Ichijinsha’s Comic Pool website on November 19, 2020. Ten manga volumes have been released in Japan as of August 2026. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the English version.
The story follows Miya Nakamura, the illegitimate child of a prominent family. After her mother passes away, Miya moves into her father’s household. She expects rejection and mistreatment from her stepmother and stepsisters – basically a classic Cinderella situation.
But things do not go as she expects. Her stepmother Teru and stepsisters Marika and Arisa turn out to be genuinely kind and welcoming. Miya finds herself in a family that actually cares for her. This creates a funny situation where Miya constantly prepares for the worst, only to receive kindness instead.
Episode 7 Recap
Episode 7 aired on August 19, 2026. The episode continued Miya’s journey as she adjusted to her new life with the Kounokura family.
After the excitement of the sports festival, Miya and her stepsisters looked forward to some rest. The episode explored Miya’s internal struggle. She began to question whether it was okay for her to be happy when her mother had recently passed away. She worried about being disloyal or forgetting her mother and her past.
Marika, the eldest stepsister, had her own issues with the student council. The episode set up new conflicts involving the student council members.
Anime Synopsis
