Netflix has dropped the trailer for Lust Stories 3, the third part of its popular anthology series about love and desire. The trailer, released on September 9, 2026, has created a strong buzz online. The film is set to premiere on September 18, 2026, on Netflix.
The trailer runs for 2 minutes and 19 seconds. It gives audiences a look at four different stories, each directed by a different filmmaker. The stories explore relationships, attraction, marriage, and the things people often do not say out loud.
The most talked-about moment from the trailer comes when Aditi Rao Hydari’s character explains that women are not like light bulbs that can be switched on and off. Instead, she compares them to candles that burn and melt. She says, “We don’t simply burn, we melt”. This statement has quickly become a talking point among viewers and on social media.
Four Directors, Four Unique Stories
Lust Stories 3 brings together four well-known directors. Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra, and Vishal Bhardwaj have each directed one segment of the anthology. This is the same format that made the earlier films popular.

“What drew me to Lust Stories 3 was the chance to explore what happens when the comfort of everyday life begins to rub up against the desire for something unexpected, and this story allowed me to explore that space with warmth, humour and a little bit of unpredictability.”
Kiran Rao shared her thoughts on the project:
“What interested me about this story was how the first sparks of an attraction can quickly become something far more complicated. Desire makes us curious, and sometimes willing to take chances we normally wouldn’t. I was interested in what happens when those choices begin to have unexpected consequences.”
Shakun Batra added:
“For me, the most interesting relationships are the ones where people don’t quite know what they’re feeling, or how to make sense of it. Affection, insecurity, allure and frustration can all exist at the same time, often in ways that surprise us.”
Star-Studded Cast
The film features a large ensemble cast. The lineup includes Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Radhika Madan, Sana Thampi, Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Siddharth, Ali Fazal, and Gurfateh Pirzada.
Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth appear together in one of the stories. Their chemistry has already caught attention. Ali Fazal and Radhika Madan play a married couple dealing with problems in their relationship.
Konkona Sen Sharma and Radhika Apte are seen as office colleagues in another segment. They have a funny conversation about a romantic situation involving “Min and Jin.” The scene takes a humorous turn when Radhika reminds Konkona that they are in Kandivali, not Korea.
Sana Thampi and Gurfateh Pirzada appear in a segment directed by Kiran Rao. Their chemistry has impressed viewers. Vijay Varma and Abhishek Banerjee are also part of the anthology.
