What Happened in Episode 11

Episode 11, titled “False Dawn”, focused on Ephtal and Merlin’s risky attempt to free Anastasia from her special slave crest. The ritual took place in an underground training ground once protected by all four of the legendary Four Emperors. The forced removal appeared successful at first, but the real fight began immediately after. The Beast God Seiryu, who governs contracts, attacked the group. The episode ended on a major cliffhanger, with Seiryu’s final attack targeting Anastasia directly.

The Story So Far

Ephtal was once a magic user who dedicated his life to reaching the peak of sorcery. He came from modern Earth and reincarnated into a world where magic was real, but he was born with no natural talent. He died in despair, only to be reborn again 400 years later with his memories and powers intact. In this new era, magic has severely declined. Spells that were once basic are now treated as miracles. Ephtal enrolls in a prestigious magic academy alongside Anastasia, a former slave girl, and Marin, the academy’s headmaster and his former disciple. His goal is to restore true sorcery and uncover what happened to the world he left behind.

The anime’s cast includes Shūichirō Umeda as Ephtal, Reo Osanai as Anastasia, and Haruka Shiraishi as Marin. The opening theme is “+Encount” by FLOW, and the ending theme is “Shōkei (Aspiration)” by TrySail.

What to Expect in the Finale

The finale picks up directly after Seiryu’s attack. According to the official Japanese synopsis, Ephtal’s Level 10 form, the Thunder God Emperor, strikes back at Seiryu. The battle appears to reach its end, but Seiryu’s lingering grudge turns toward Anastasia. At this critical moment, Ephtal reaches a new level of martial skill.

The episode also dives into the truth behind “Magia Burst”, the event responsible for the massive decline of magic in this era. That truth connects directly to the Four Emperors, Ephtal’s former companions from his past life. The episode is expected to reveal what really happened in this world over the past 400 years and why magic fell so far.

The official synopsis states: “Ephtal steps into the truth behind ‘Magia Burst,’ the root cause of magic’s great decline in this era. What was revealed there was a shocking fact about his former companions, the Four Emperors.”
