Belmont Cameli is set to star opposite Sydney Sweeney in Sony Pictures’ upcoming film Hollow, a modern reimagining of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Cameli will play Brom Bones, the rival of Ichabod Crane, in a story that puts Katrina Van Tassel at the center of a supernatural love triangle.
A Fresh Take on a Classic Tale
The film is based on Lindsey Anderson Beer‘s upcoming debut novel, also titled Hollow. Beer, who previously directed Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, will both write and direct the movie. The novel is set to be published by Putnam in fall 2027, and the film will follow.
Unlike previous adaptations, Hollow shifts the story away from Ichabod Crane and tells it from the perspective of Katrina Van Tassel, played by Sydney Sweeney. The story reframes Katrina as the central figure in a dangerous mystery and a seductive supernatural love triangle, blending gothic atmosphere, psychological intrigue, and erotic thriller elements.

Belmont Cameli is coming off a breakout role in the hit Prime Video series Off Campus, where he plays college hockey captain Garrett Graham. The show drew 36 million viewers in its first 12 days of streaming. He has also appeared in Until Dawn and The Alto Knights.
What Hollow Is About
The film is a reimagining of Washington Irving‘s classic 1820 short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. In this version, Sydney Sweeney‘s Katrina Van Tassel is not a romantic prize but the main character navigating a dark mystery and a love triangle involving Brom Bones (Cameli) and Ichabod Crane — a role that has not yet been cast.
