Heartstopper Forever
Heartstopper Forever arrived on Netflix on July 17, 2026, closing out the story that began with the Heartstopper series. The film follows Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) and Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) as they return for a new school year at Truham-Higgs. Their relationship deepens, and both begin to think about life after graduation. The movie is based on the graphic novels by Alice Oseman, who also created the series.

La Bola Negra
La Bola Negra, known in English as The Black Ball, is a Spanish-language film from directors Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, who work together as Los Javis. The story connects the lives of three gay men living in 1932, 1937, and 2017. Their stories are linked by desire, pain, and love across different periods of Spanish history. The film takes its title from an unfinished work by poet and playwright Federico García Lorca, who was killed in 1936. It also draws from co-writer Alberto Conejero‘s play La Piedra Oscura (The Dark Stone).
The cast includes Guitarricadelafuente as Sebastián, Carlos González as Alberto, Milo Quifes as Carlos, Miguel Bernardeau as Rafael Rodríguez Rapún, Lola Dueñas as Teresa, Penélope Cruz as Nené Romero, Glenn Close as Isabelle Durand, and Julio Torres as Juan Pablo. La Bola Negra premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2026, where Calvo and Ambrossi won the Best Director award. Netflix secured U.S. distribution rights after a competitive bidding war.
“When we began writing La Bola Negra, we wanted to tell a story about freedom, legacy, and the importance of LGBTQ+ visibility,” Calvo and Ambrossi said. “Above all, we wanted to honor the generations of people whose courage and sacrifice made our freedoms possible today.”
The film opens in theaters in Spain on September 25, 2026. A U.S. theatrical release begins on October 16, followed by a streaming debut on Netflix in the United States and Canada on December 2, 2026. The 47-day gap between its theatrical and streaming releases is Netflix’s longest theatrical window to date, breaking the previous record held by Marriage Story.
Here the Whole Time
Here the Whole Time is a Brazilian teen romantic comedy directed by Daniel Lieff. The film is based on the 2017 novel by Vitor Martins. It follows Felipe (Miguel Lallo), a gay teenager who lives with his single mother, Rita (Débora Falabella). Felipe is already out, but he faces bullying at school because of his weight. He plans to spend his summer break alone, but his plans change when Caio (Diego Lira), a childhood friend, comes to stay with them while Caio’s parents are away.
Caio is athletic and popular, and Felipe expects the worst. Over time, the two boys rebuild their friendship, and Felipe’s feelings for Caio grow into something more. The movie also stars Mika Soiero as Beca and Bel Moreira as Melissa. Here the Whole Time landed on Netflix in August 2026. Flat Girls
Flat Girls is a Thai coming-of-age drama about two teenage girls who grow up together in a police housing area. The film looks at love, friendship, and the challenges of growing up as one of them prepares to leave the home they shared. The movie stars Kirana Pipityakorn and Fatima Dechawaleekul. It is directed by Jirassaya Wongsutin.
Flat Girls premiered on Netflix on June 12, 2025. The film runs for about two hours and nine minutes. The eight-episode series follows Ryu Narutaki (Hayato Isomura), a Japanese man who flees to Berlin after being haunted by guilt and doubt. There, he meets Johan Hwang (Ok Taec-yeon), a Korean boxer who saves him. Their chance encounter connects their lives for years to come, with the story moving across Berlin, Seoul, and other cities.
The series explores a ten-year relationship between the two men. Ai Hashimoto also stars. Soul Mate premiered on Netflix on May 14, 2026. All eight episodes are available to stream.
