What Happened in Episode 1

Episode 1, titled “Kicked Out,” introduced viewers to Lent, a kind-hearted young man from a rural village who received a rare S-rank Gift called Magic Warehouse at age 15. Unlike fighters, mages, or healers, Lent’s ability allowed him to store his own magic points and lend them to others. He formed an adventuring party called the Skypiercers with his childhood friends, including Guy and Misa, and supported them by providing the magic they needed to use their powerful skills.

As the party grew stronger and gained fame, Lent remained physically weak despite being the reason his friends could fight at full power. The party eventually obtained magic bracers that could replace Lent’s role, and they decided he was no longer useful. In a painful scene, Guy and the others kicked Lent out of the party and abandoned him.

Furious and betrayed, Lent found himself alone until a small fairy named Empee appeared before him. With her arrival, Lent’s Gift evolved from Magic Warehouse into Infinite Magic Storage, and he gained a new skill called Forced Collection. This power allows him to take back all the magic he ever lent to his former party members — and he does not need their permission to do it.

What to Expect in Episode 2: Contract

Episode 2 picks up right after Empee’s appearance. The fairy explains how Lent’s Gift has changed and what Forced Collection can do. Lent then goes to confront Guy and the others to demand repayment for all the magic he gave them over the years.

The confrontation does not go smoothly. Guy and the former party members refuse to return what they owe, and Lent ends up being defeated when he tries to face them directly. Even with a powerful new skill, he learns that Forced Collection alone will not be enough against a party of adventurers who have grown strong using his own magic.

After being defeated, Lent activates Forced Collection anyway, and Empee takes matters into her own hands. The fairy, who hides a dangerous personality behind a cheerful smile, independently chooses a repayment method that nobody expected. She introduces the concept of “magic power installment payments” — a system that forces Guy and the others to pay back their magic debt slowly over time, with interest.

This “magic installment plan” is one of the key new elements in Episode 2. While Lent has the power to forcibly collect magic, Empee decides how the repayment works, and her choices may be even more ruthless than what Lent had in mind.

The anime is based on the manga by Masakichi and Shingou Iijima, which has surpassed 2.1 million copies in circulation. Seven Seas Entertainment began releasing the manga in English in September 2026.

Why This Episode Matters

Episode 2 is where the real story begins. Episode 1 spent most of its runtime explaining Lent’s power and setting up his betrayal. Episode 2 moves the plot forward by showing what happens when Lent actually tries to collect what he is owed. The magic installment plan introduces a unique twist that separates this series from other “banished from the party” anime. Instead of simply defeating his former friends in battle, Lent’s revenge takes the form of a debt that they cannot escape.

The dynamic between Lent and Empee is also worth watching. Empee presents herself as a cute and helpful fairy, but her true nature is far more mischievous. The contrast between Lent’s anger and Empee’s playful cruelty adds an interesting layer to their partnership.

Anime fans who enjoy stories about underdogs getting revenge will find plenty to like here. The series takes the familiar “kicked out of the party” formula and gives it a fresh spin with its focus on magic as a form of debt. Episode 2 delivers the first real taste of that revenge.
