What Happened in War of the Three Titans Arc Episode 1

Episode 1, titled “Break Up,” opened right after the devastating end of the Tenjiku Arc. Izana Kurokawa was killed by a bullet from Tetta Kisaki, and Kisaki himself died after being hit by a truck while fleeing. The episode showed Emma Sano’s funeral, with nearly every Toman member in attendance. Draken kneeled before her grandfather and apologized, receiving a response that preserved Emma’s affection for him.

Takemichi then made a major decision: he told Mikey the full truth about his time-leaping ability and everything he had experienced across his jumps. Mikey listened, refused to blame him for Baji and Emma’s deaths, and explained the faith he had placed in Takemichi from their first meeting. The conversation gave Takemichi something his ability to revisit the past had failed to provide: permission to stop treating every loss as his personal failure. Mikey then called forward the division captains and announced that Toman would be disbanded for good.

Takemichi returned to the present day believing he had finally created the perfect timeline. Hinata Tachibana was alive, and his friends were happy. But that perfect future did not hold together for long.

What Happened in War of the Three Titans Arc Episode 2

Episode 2, titled “Be Left Behind the Times,” began in the past timeline of 2006. Takemichi and Chifuyu were worried about how to get Hina the proper gift for White Day. They struggled but eventually found a way to impress her. When Hina arrived, she broke down in tears, still haunted by Kisaki’s death and feeling guilty for his and Emma’s deaths. Takemichi could not control his emotions and decided to propose to Hina for marriage. Hina accepted, and they decided they would marry after 12 years and conveyed the same to Chifuyu and Naoto.

After burying a time capsule with his Tokyo Manji Gang friends, Takemichi returned to the present and landed in the middle of Pah-chin’s wedding reception. The celebration was filled with the kind of happiness that had felt practically impossible throughout Takemichi’s time-leaping journey. Everyone was dressed up, enjoying themselves, and celebrating their friend’s big day. During the cake-cutting ceremony, Peh-yan and Kazutora playfully teased Pah-chin, turning the occasion into a hilarious reminder of the group’s chaotic friendship.

The atmosphere changed when Takemichi asked about Mikey and learned he was busy working abroad. Later, Takemichi watched a news report about Bonten, a criminal organization that had taken Toman’s place as the main source of chaos in the future. The report featured a man with a tattoo that bothered Takemichi. He met the Kawata twins in their ramen shop and found out they had not seen Mikey for ten years. Hina’s earring reminded Takemichi of Izana’s earrings. He immediately ran to Draken’s bike shop and asked him why he lied and whether Izana is alive and killed Mikey.

Character Story Progress in the War of the Three Titans Arc

Takemichi Hanagaki has reached the future he spent years fighting for, but the absence of Mikey has turned his apparent victory into another problem. He now faces the reality that saving Hinata did not mean saving everyone. He must confront a new reality where the criminal underworld is controlled by powerful rival organizations.

Manjiro Sano (Mikey) is at the center of Takemichi’s newest struggle. After learning the full truth behind the time leaps, Mikey made a crucial decision that led to the disbandment of Toman. In the future, he now heads Japan’s largest criminal organization, Bonten, and is described as having changed over twelve years.

Ken Ryuguji (Draken) has been living in the future and running a bike shop. He and Chifuyu mentioned that Mikey is currently abroad, but Takemichi suspects they are hiding the truth about Izana. Draken’s response to Takemichi’s confrontation will be a key moment in Episode 3.

Chifuyu Matsuno remains Takemichi’s closest ally in the future. He helped Takemichi with the White Day plan and has been part of the group waiting for Takemichi’s return. He and Draken are the ones who told Takemichi that Mikey is abroad.

Hinata Tachibana is alive and finally safe in the future. She accepted Takemichi’s marriage proposal and has been living happily with him. However, she still carries guilt over Kisaki’s death and Emma’s death. Her earring, which resembles Izana’s earrings, becomes a crucial clue for Takemichi.

Naoto Tachibana has lost his power as a time-leap trigger. Since Hina is alive and happy in this timeline, Naoto can no longer send Takemichi back to the past. This creates a major problem for Takemichi, who may need to find another way to return to the past to save Mikey.
