BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Seo In Guk are generating excitement with their upcoming romantic comedy drama Monthly Boyfriend. According to reports from South Korean media on October 8, 2024, the production will begin filming in mid-October and continue until April 2025.
Casting and Plot Details
Though fans are eagerly waiting for official confirmation, both Jisoo and Seo In Guk are reportedly in talks for the lead roles. BLISOO, Jisoo’s agency, stated that she is still considering the offer. Similarly, Story J Company, representing Seo In Guk, revealed that the actor is positively reviewing his casting offer.
Director Kim Jung Sik, known for No Gain No Love, Work Later, Drink Now, and Strong Girl Nam Soon, will helm Monthly Boyfriend. The drama will explore a unique world where people can subscribe to virtual boyfriends, and their virtual relationships eventually impact reality.
About the Cast
Jisoo has gained widespread fame both as a singer and an actress. Apart from her role as Eun Young Ro in Snowdrop, she is set to appear in the upcoming zombie thriller Newtopia alongside Park Jeong Min, as well as the fantasy film The Prophet: Omniscient Reader, starring Lee Min Ho and Ahn Hyo Seop.
Seo In Guk rose to stardom with his performance in Reply 1997. He was recently seen in the mystery thriller Death’s Game alongside Park So Dam and is celebrated for his roles in Doom at Your Service, Café Minamdang, and Shopping King Louie.
