Dwayne Johnson, known for his charisma and strength both on and off the screen, recently confessed that Taylor Swift’s sold-out Eras Tour pushed him to do something unusual: ask for a favor. The actor, famous for his role as Maui in Moana, revealed the rare struggle he faced in securing tickets to the pop icon’s concert, despite his A-list status.
Pulling Strings for the First Time
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Johnson shared how obtaining tickets for Swift’s tour was a unique challenge. He explained:
“It’s never happened in my career. Usually, I don’t have to pull strings. Usually, I’ll just … I just make it happen.”
The actor revealed that a good friend approached him for help in securing tickets to Swift’s final concert. Johnson, who admitted he dislikes asking for favors, eventually reached out to Swift herself.
“I’m never good at asking for that kind of stuff. I’m good at giving it. Hate asking for stuff. I don’t do it. But in this case, made a little call, Taylor made it happen. [We got] tickets … [my friend was] happy. I got the picture of the happy ladies who were there. I appreciate that about Taylor.”
A Family Affair
Johnson also spoke about his daughters’ admiration for Swift. Simone, 23, Jasmine, 8, and Tiana, 6, have grown up loving both Taylor Swift and Beyoncé. Johnson humorously mentioned that his youngest daughter, Tiana, even earned the nickname “Teyoncé” for her bold personality and dramatic flair.
“We love Taylor. We love Beyoncé. Tia, our littlest one, we call her Teyoncé. She owns it and will come strutting over.”
Interestingly, Jasmine and Tiana are set to lend their voices to Disney’s upcoming sequel, Moana 2.
Swift’s Star-Studded Audience
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has drawn countless celebrities, further solidifying her global appeal. Among the high-profile attendees are Tom Cruise, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Selena Gomez, Victoria and David Beckham, and Gigi Hadid. Swift’s tour, featuring 149 performances, has been one of the most successful events in recent music history.
The final performance of the Eras Tour is set for December 8, 2024, in Vancouver, Canada, marking the end of a record-breaking journey.
