Countdown is a new crime drama series on Amazon Prime Video. The show follows a secret task force trying to stop a dangerous plot in Los Angeles. The first season has 13 episodes, with new ones coming out every Wednesday.
The series stars Jensen Ackles as LAPD detective Mark Meachum. He works with agents from different law enforcement groups to solve a murder case that turns into something much bigger. The show started on June 25, 2025 and will finish on September 3, 2025.
How to Watch Countdown Season 1
Countdown is only available on Amazon Prime Video. You need a Prime membership to watch it. The first three episodes came out together on June 25. After that, one new episode is released each week.
New episodes come out at 12:00 AM PT (Pacific Time) every Wednesday. This means:

Recap of Released Episodes (Up to Episode 10)
The story begins when a DHS officer is killed in public. Detective Mark Meachum joins a secret team with agents from DEA, FBI, and other groups. They soon find out the murder is part of a bigger plan by a man named Borys “Volchek” Vusovich.
Volchek is from Belarus and wants to attack Los Angeles. The team works hard to stop him. They go to Mexico, break someone out of prison, and visit the Belarusian consulate. Along the way, they face many dangers.
In episode 9, Volchek tries to blow up trucks near a school event. The team barely stops him. Episode 10 shows the final fight with Volchek. Meachum shoots him, but then has to deal with his health problems. The team thinks it’s over, but a new threat appears.
A Secret Service agent named Ryan Fitzgerald finds a strange journal. It suggests someone wants to hurt the President and California’s Governor. The team gets back together to face this new danger.
What to Expect in Upcoming Episodes
The last three episodes will focus on the new threat. The team will investigate the journal and the killer’s plans. Meachum is now healthy after treatment. Oliveras is not with the team anymore, but others like Bell and Shepherd are back.
