Story and Premise
All the Devils Are Here is a psychological crime thriller that follows four criminals after they commit a robbery. They hide in a remote safehouse located in the middle of Dartmoor, waiting for the signal that it is safe to leave and split their earnings. What is supposed to be a short stay turns into a long and tense wait as days pass with no communication from the outside world.
The film explores the growing paranoia and distrust among the group. As the characters are forced into close quarters with nothing to do but wait, the real threat may not be the police outside, but the danger already inside the house with them. The title comes from the Shakespearean line, “Hell is empty, because all the devils are here,” which reflects the story’s focus on internal conflict and betrayal.

- Eddie Marsan plays Ronnie Blake, the group’s leader. Marsan describes Ronnie as a professional criminal who has just been released from prison after 20 years. During his time in prison, Ronnie found a new side of himself and wants to leave his criminal life behind to reconnect with his daughter, but feels forced to do one last job.
- Sam Claflin plays Grady, another member of the criminal crew.
- Burn Gorman plays Numbers.
- Tienne Simon plays Royce.
The film also features Rory Kinnear as Harold Laing and Suki Waterhouse as C.
Release Date and How to Watch
All the Devils Are Here will have a limited theatrical release and will be available on digital platforms in the United States starting September 26, 2025. The film will be available on digital in the UK on the same day. International release dates include September 25 for Germany and October 1 for Australia.
The movie had its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on August 19, 2025.
Behind the Scenes
The film is the feature directorial debut of Barnaby Roper, who has previously directed music videos. The screenplay was written by John Patrick Dover. The movie is produced by Ben LeClair and Leopold Hughes.
Actor Eddie Marsan shared that his performance was inspired by the late actor Bob Hoskins, known for his roles in British gangster films like The Long Good Friday and Mona Lisa. Marsan stated that his character’s hair and clothes are an homage to Hoskins, whose work originally inspired him to become an actor.
Marsan also explained that he chose this film because it portrays gangsters with complexity and vulnerability, unlike what he sees as more modern, “cool” versions of the character type. He said, “What I loved about ‘All the Devils Are Here’ is… it’s a very, very actual portrayal of those men. Because if you ever spent time with an old gangster, they are in a hell of their own making”.
The official trailer for the film was released online in late August 2025.
