The newest episode of the horror series IT: Welcome to Derry is almost here, bringing with it the long-awaited return of Bill Skarsgรฅrd as the terrifying clown, Pennywise. Titled “Neibolt Street,” the fifth episode promises to take viewers deeper into the mystery as the story reaches its midpoint.

A recently released teaser for the episode shows Pennywise making a dramatic appearance. In one scene, he is seen in a sewer, his face covered in blood, speaking to a young character named Lilly. He tells her, “I always wondered how you taste,” as she backs away in fear. This marks a significant shift, as Pennywise has been largely absent from the first half of the season. The episode will explore the infamous Neibolt Street house, a location familiar to fans of the IT films, where the true nature of the evil in Derry is beginning to surface.

What to Expect in Episode 5

The official teaser for “Neibolt Street” provides several clues about the episode’s plot. The children in the show are starting to question the creature’s motives. One of the main kids, Will, is seen asking his friends, “What if it doesn’t want to kill us? What if it’s just trying to scare us?” This suggests that It may be feeding on their fear rather than trying to immediately kill them.

Meanwhile, Major Leroy Hanlon of the US Air Force is growing more suspicious of the operation he is involved in. He is seen demanding answers from General Shaw, asking, “What the hell do you have us chasing?” The military’s search for a mysterious “weapon” in Derry is clearly leading them toward something far darker than they anticipated. The teaser also includes a mysterious voice instructing someone to “Follow the tunnels under the old well,” pointing the characters toward the labyrinth beneath the Neibolt house.

The Return of Pennywise

After being a background threat in the first four episodes, Bill Skarsgรฅrd’s Pennywise is set to become a central figure. The midseason trailer shows that he will specifically target the young girl Lilly and the psychic soldier Dick Hallorann. His return is not just a brief cameo; the footage indicates he will have a substantial presence in the remaining episodes.

Pennywise appears in several terrifying forms. One moment shows him in a fiery setting, seemingly trying to lure Dick Hallorann and others to join him. His direct interaction with Lilly in the sewer confirms that the children will now be facing the clown head-on. The series is ramping up its horror elements as it moves toward the season finale.
