MBN’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday romance drama “What A Boss Wants“ has given viewers their first proper look at the unusual way its two leads meet. Newly released stills show Sung Hoon and Oh Se Young in a scene that flips expectations on their head.
Kwon Do Hyuk (Sung Hoon) walks into a hospital for a consultation about his insomnia. He expects to see a medical professional. Instead, he finds Lee Eun Chae (Oh Se Young) standing before him in a doctor’s coat. The same woman he had assumed was simply a job seeker is now the person treating his sleep problems.
The drama is set to premiere on November 11 on MBN, airing every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:20 p.m. KST. The production has already shared script reading stills and character photos, building steady interest among romance drama viewers.
What A Boss Wants Plot And Character Details
Adapted from a popular web novel of the same name, “What A Boss Wants” tells the story of Kwon Do Hyuk, a chaebol boss with zero sense of taste who sets out to find the woman whose voice he heard on an album. Sung Hoon plays Kwon Do Hyuk, the CEO of O Yes Entertainment, who has it all, from his looks to his abilities. He is the only son of a top 1 percent chaebol family and a genius in the field of AI.
Oh Se Young plays Lee Eun Chae, an energetic job seeker who becomes the only variable in his otherwise perfect life. She lives a double life. By day, she struggles through the harsh employment market. By night, she takes the stage as Su, the lead vocalist of an indie band. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Kwon Do Hyuk, a man described as more AI-like than AI itself. As she becomes entangled with him, she secretly conceals her true identity.
The production team shared their thoughts on Oh Se Young‘s casting.
“Oh Se Young is an actress who can express Lee Eun Chae’s bubbly energy and lovable charm in her own unique style. Please look forward to Oh Se Young’s diverse transformations from Su, who shines onstage, to Lee Eun Chae, who lives with her feet firmly planted in reality.”
Lee Eun Chae is described as a character full of joy and love, but also honest about her anger and tears. She has a bubbly, lovable personality, along with an unpredictable and quirky side that makes it hard to know what she will do next. Even after repeatedly failing to land a job, she refuses to be discouraged. Instead, she finds small moments of happiness in her everyday life and keeps moving forward with a bright and positive outlook.
