The support act for Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds’ long-awaited return to Australia and New Zealand has been confirmed. New Zealand singer-songwriter Aldous Harding will open all shows on the band’s 2026 ‘Wild God Tour’ across the region. This major tour, their first there since 2017, will see the band perform in large outdoor parks and arenas starting in January. The news came with an update that the Saturday, January 31st show in Melbourne has already sold out.
Who Is Tour Support Act Aldous Harding?
Aldous Harding is a celebrated indie folk artist from New Zealand known for her striking and emotionally direct music. Her career began to rise after the release of her self-titled debut album in 2015, which drew comparisons to artists like Kate Bush for its unique style. She has since released several other albums, including ‘Party’ (2017), ‘Designer’ (2019), and ‘Warm Chris’ (2022), often collaborating with noted producer John Parish.
Her 2019 single “The Barrel” won the APRA Silver Scroll award, one of New Zealand’s top music honors. Her most recent album, Warm Chris, reached number one on the New Zealand Albums Chart. This tour supports the band’s 18th studio album, ‘Wild God’, which was released in September 2024. The album debuted at number 2 on the ARIA Chart in Australia and number 5 on the UK Albums Chart.
