The Plot: A Stylish and Lethal Mystery

The story unfolds in the glamorous yet deadly world of international fashion. FBI agents Cooper Madsen (Evan Peters) and Jordan Bennett (Rebecca Hall) are sent to Paris to investigate a disturbing case. International supermodels are dying in mysterious and gruesome ways.

As they investigate, the agents discover something more frightening than a serial killer. They find a sexually transmitted virus that promises a terrifying form of perfection. The virus transforms ordinary people into visions of flawless physical beauty. However, this transformation comes with horrific and deadly side effects.

Their search for answers leads them directly to “The Corporation,” a shadowy tech billionaire played by Ashton Kutcher. He is the mastermind behind a miracle drug called “The Beauty.” He will use any method, including sending out his deadly enforcer “The Assassin” (Anthony Ramos), to protect his trillion-dollar empire. Meanwhile, a desperate outsider named Jeremy, played by Jeremy Pope, gets caught in the middle of the growing chaos.

“What would you sacrifice for perfection?” is the question at the heart of this global thriller.

Ryan Murphy recently explained that the show’s premise touches on modern cultural obsessions. “It was looking at, I call it the Ozempic culture. One little shot, and suddenly you’re going to look better and feel better, and all your problems are going to go away,” he said in an interview.

The main cast features Evan Peters and Rebecca Hall as the leading FBI agents. Ashton Kutcher plays the sinister billionaire “The Corporation,” with Anthony Ramos as his violent enforcer. Jeremy Pope rounds out the core group as Jeremy, the outsider caught in the crisis.

The Source Material and Creative Team

The Beauty is based on a comic book series created by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley and published by Image Comics. The original comic asks a provocative question: in a society obsessed with looks, what if you could become more beautiful every day through a sexually transmitted disease? Detectives in that story also discover the terrible price of that perfection.

For the TV adaptation, Ryan Murphy co-created the series and wrote the scripts with Matthew Hodgson. Murphy also serves as an executive producer alongside several cast members, including Evan Peters, Anthony Ramos, and Jeremy Pope. The series is produced by 20th Television.
