The last episodes of Taylor Swift’s The End of an Era documentary series will now premiere days ahead of schedule. Disney+ announced that the final two episodes will be available to stream on December 23, instead of the originally planned December 26 date. The singer shared the news herself in a video message during Good Morning America on December 18.
The change means fans can watch the conclusion of the six-part series about Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour before Christmas celebrations begin. Disney+ called the move an early holiday gift for fans around the world.
Updated Release Schedule and How to Watch
The documentary series The End of an Era is streaming exclusively on Disney+. New episodes arrive in batches. Episodes 5 and 6 are the ones with the new, earlier premiere date.
- Episodes 1 & 2: Released on December 12.
- Episodes 3 & 4: Released on December 19.
- Episodes 5 & 6 (Finale): Now releasing on December 23. The previous plan was for a December 26 release.
All episodes go live on Disney+ at 12 a.m. Pacific Time (3 a.m. Eastern Time) on their release dates. This is a global release, so international fans should check the corresponding local time.
“As an early gift to fans around the world, the final two episodes will premiere early on December 23 at 12am PT.” — Disney+ social media announcement.
The series launched alongside a separate concert film titled Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show, which is also streaming on Disney+. That film captures the full performance from the tour’s final stop in Vancouver in December 2024.
Behind-the-Scenes Content in the Docuseries
The End of an Era provides a detailed look at the massive effort behind one of the most successful concert tours in history. The first episodes show how the tour idea started. Swift connects it to two major events: the sale of her original music catalog and the COVID-19 pandemic.
“What if I did a tour that celebrated all of these different moments in my life and career?” — Taylor Swift, on the origin of the Eras Tour concept.
The documentary shows not just the star but also the large team that makes the tour possible. It features her band, dancers, crew, and family members. The series includes moments with famous friends who made surprise appearances on tour, like Ed Sheeran, Sabrina Carpenter, and Florence Welch.
A big part of the show focuses on Swift’s reaction to serious real-world events that happened during the tour. It covers a foiled terror plot targeting her concerts in Vienna, Austria, in August 2024. The documentary also shows Swift meeting with families affected by a violent attack at a Swift-themed dance class in Southport, England, in July 2024.

Fan Anticipation and What to Expect in Final Episodes
Reaction to the first episodes has been strong. Fans are now especially eager to see the final two installments. Sneak peeks suggest the upcoming episodes will feature more celebrity guest appearances and behind-the-scenes moments.
One highly expected appearance is from Swift’s fiancé, NFL star Travis Kelce. Previews confirm he will appear in episodes 3 and 4, which focus on his surprise onstage cameo during a London show in June 2024. A clip of the couple sharing a kiss under the stage is even shown in the official trailer.
“Travis Kelce brings a lot of happiness to a lot of fans,” — Andrea Swift, Taylor’s mother, says in the docuseries.
While the documentary celebrates the tour’s joy and success, it doesn’t avoid difficult topics. The later episodes will likely continue to show the balance between Swift’s public performance and her private challenges. As one review noted, seeing Swift work without her public face on reminds fans why they connect with her so deeply.
The early release of the finale means Swifties worldwide can complete the series during the holiday week, turning the docuseries into a shared year-end event for the global fan community.
