An upcoming fantasy romance K-drama titled “No Tail to Tell” will premiere on January 16, 2026, starring Kim Hye-yoon and Lomon, the breakout actor from “All of Us Are Dead.” The series will air weekly on SBS in South Korea and be available globally on Netflix.

The drama, developed by Studio S, began filming in late 2024 following a confirmed casting announcement in September. It marks Lomon’s first major romantic comedy role since his international fame from the Netflix zombie series.

Official Premiere Schedule and Global Streaming

The series has a confirmed premiere date and a clear release pattern for international audiences. “No Tail to Tell” will debut in South Korea on SBS TV on Friday, January 16, 2026. New episodes will air every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM KST.

For viewers around the world, the drama will be available on Netflix. This is part of a broader content agreement between Netflix and the South Korean broadcaster SBS. The series is scheduled to have 12 episodes, each with an approximate runtime of 70 minutes. If the schedule holds without breaks, the series finale is expected around February 21, 2026.

Meet the Lead Actors and Their Characters

The drama pairs two popular South Korean actors in a fantasy-driven narrative.

Kim Hye-yoon plays the female lead, Eun-ho. She is a “gumiho,” or nine-tailed fox, who enjoys her immortal life indulging in human pleasures while actively avoiding good deeds, which would turn her into a human. Her carefree existence is disrupted by an accident involving a famous soccer player. Kim Hye-yoon is known for her roles in “Extraordinary You,” “Lovely Runner,” and “Snowdrop”.

The production team shared, โ€œWhile there have been various works based on gumiho folklore, โ€˜No Tail to Tellโ€™ offers a unique setting and world that deliver a fresh kind of fun.”

Lomon takes on the male lead role of Kang Si-yeol. He is portrayed as a world-class soccer player at the peak of his career, known for exceptional talent and a similarly large ego. The character’s journey from a passionate youth to a global superstar is a key part of the story. Lomon gained widespread recognition for his role as Lee Su-hyeok in the hit Netflix series “All of Us Are Dead,” a role he will reprise in the upcoming second season.

The Supporting Cast and Creative Team

The drama features a robust supporting cast that adds depth to the world of sports and fantasy.

Key supporting actors include:

  • Lee Si-woo as Geum-ho, a mysterious figure connected to Eun-ho.
  • Jang Dong-joo as Hyun Woo-seok, a former soccer prospect whose career was altered by an accident.
  • Choi Seung-yoon as Lee Yoon, a fourth-generation chaebol heir and a client of Eun-ho.
  • In Gyo-jin as Park Yong-gil, a coach who moves from a national youth team to a citizen’s club.
  • Hong Soo-hyun as Hong Yeon-su, Kang Si-yeol’s agent of nine years.

The series is directed by Kim Jung-kwon, whose previous directorial works include “Love to Hate You” (2023) and “Maestra: Strings of Truth” (2023-2024). The script is co-written by Park Chan-young and Jo Ah-young, who previously collaborated on the 2019 drama “Best Chicken”.

The Story: A Fantasy Romance with a Soccer Twist

The plot of “No Tail to Tell” centers on an unconventional collision between the mystical and the human worlds. Eun-ho, a gumiho, deliberately shirks her mythical destiny to become human because she prefers the fun parts of immortality. Her life changes completely after a sudden accident with Kang Si-yeol, the narcissistic soccer star, which unexpectedly transforms her into an ordinary human.

Forced to experience human emotions and vulnerabilities for the first time, Eun-ho’s story intertwines with Kang Si-yeol’s. The drama is described as depicting the “chaotic journey of the two as they attempt to save one another”. The production team has highlighted the unique dynamic, promising that the “playful, exciting love-hate chemistry” between the two leads will be a central highlight of the show.

Production Background and Development

The series has been in development since mid-2024. Initial reports in July 2024 indicated that Lomon and actress Shin Se-kyung were in discussions for the lead roles. By August, Kim Hye-yoon was announced as the new candidate for the female lead, and SBS officially confirmed the casting of both Kim and Lomon in early September 2024.

The main cast and crew held their first script reading in September 2024, which was shared by the director on social media and later showcased in promotional materials. Filming commenced around that time. The drama was initially slated for a late 2025 broadcast but was later moved to its early 2026 slot as part of SBS’s programming adjustments.
