Will there be an Emily in Paris Season 6? As of December 2025, Netflix has not made an official announcement, but strong hints from the show’s creator and the streaming platform’s CEO suggest the popular series is likely to continue. The fifth season, which premiered on December 18, 2025, ended on a major cliffhanger, leaving the door open for new adventures, potentially in Greece.

The future of Emily in Paris is currently the biggest question on fans’ minds after the release of Season 5. While an official green light for a sixth season is pending, all signs and comments from the people in charge point toward more episodes. The latest season concluded with Emily Cooper at a romantic and professional crossroads, receiving a tantalizing invitation that could dictate the show’s next destination.

What Is the Official Renewal Status for Season 6?

As of now, Netflix has not officially renewed Emily in Paris for a sixth season. This lack of an immediate announcement is standard practice for streaming platforms, which often wait to assess viewer numbers and critical reception before confirming a show’s future. For context, the renewal for Season 5 was announced roughly a month after Season 4 was released in August 2024. A similar timeline could follow for the next season.

However, several high-profile hints suggest confidence in the show’s return. Ted Sarandos, the Co-CEO of Netflix, has publicly expressed his personal fondness for the series. At the Season 5 premiere event in Paris, he told the audience that his wife, Nicole, is “one of Emily’s biggest fans”. This personal endorsement from a top executive is a positive signal. Furthermore, a report from IMDb News indicated that during a Netflix earnings call in October 2025, Sarandos listed Emily in Paris among original series planned to return with new seasons in 2026.

Showrunner Darren Star has also been vocal about his desire to continue the story. In an interview with Deadline just hours after Season 5 premiered, he expressed hope for more episodes, directly referencing the finale’s cliffhanger. He has previously stated he would keep making the show for “as many as they’ll have us!”.

What Could Season 6 Be About? The Major Cliffhangers

Season 5 concluded with several storylines poised for development, ensuring plenty of material for a potential new season. The most significant moment came in the final scene of the episode “Veni, Vidi, Venezia”.

The primary cliffhanger involves Gabriel. After Emily ends her relationship with Italian boyfriend Marcello, she returns to Paris single. Sylvie, ever the supporter of Gabriel, immediately texts the chef to give him the news. Gabriel, who has been working as a private chef on a yacht, responds by sending Emily a handwritten postcard. It reads: “Emily. As promisedโ€ฆ A postcard with a stamp. Iโ€™m at sea without you. Meet me in Greece. Yours, Gabriel”. This direct invitation sets the stage for the next chapter and a potential change of scenery.

Darren Star told Deadline, “I hope Emily says yes to that invitationโ€ฆ [Emily and Gabriel] reconnected in a nice way. [As for] where that takes them, I think it definitely hints at the idea that theyโ€™ll stay in each otherโ€™s lives”.

Mindy’s love life is also complicated. She accepted a marriage proposal from her ex, Nicolas, seemingly closing the door on her summer fling with Alfie. However, Alfie later confronts Mindy, telling her she is making a mistake, which plants seeds of doubt. To make matters more tangled, Mindy asks Emily if she still has feelings for Alfie and receives no clear answer, creating a potential “love pentagon” for the next season.

On the business front, Sylvie’s marketing firm, Agence Grateau, faced financial trouble. To save the company, Sylvie accepted a major investment from Princess Jane (played by Minnie Driver), who is now a co-owner. This new power dynamic at the office guarantees fresh professional challenges and hijinks for Emily and her colleagues.

Where and When Could Season 6 Film?

The finale’s postcard points strongly toward Greece as a key location for Season 6. When asked about this possibility, director and executive producer Andrew Fleming confirmed the tease. “Assuming weโ€™re picked up, I want to go back to Paris. But I want to go other places too,” he told Us Weekly. “Itโ€™s teased where we might end up going at the end of season 5 โ€” thereโ€™s a possibility weโ€™ll be going there, to Greece”.

Cast member Samuel Arnold, who plays Julian, enthusiastically endorsed the idea of a Greek production, joking, “If they want to shoot in Greece, whatever the reason I say, ‘Letโ€™s go.’ Iโ€™ve never been to Greece”. Darren Star has also mused about other potential locations, including the United States, though he noted no concrete plans are in place.

A potential release window is speculative without a renewal. However, if the show is announced in early 2026, a production schedule similar to Season 5 could see new episodes arriving in early 2027.

Which Cast Members Are Expected to Return?

Should the series be renewed, viewers can expect all the core cast members to return. This includes:

  • Lily Collins as Emily Cooper
  • Ashley Park as Mindy Chen
  • Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie Grateau
  • Lucas Bravo as Gabriel
  • Lucien Laviscount as Alfie
  • Samuel Arnold as Julian
  • Bruno Gouery as Luc
  • Paul Forman as Nicolas

The future of Eugenio Franceschini, who plays Emily’s Season 5 boyfriend Marcello, is less certain following their breakup, though the series has a history of keeping past love interests in the mix. Minnie Driver would also likely return as the newly involved Princess Jane.
