A romantic French vacation turns into a terrifying search in the new series Vanished. The four-episode mystery drama starring Kaley Cuoco and Sam Claflin will premiere on February 1, 2026 in several countries. The show follows a woman desperate to find her missing boyfriend, only to discover she may not know him at all.
Filmed on location in Paris and Marseille, the series is set to launch on MGM+ for viewers in the United States and other select regions. Audiences in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and other countries can watch the full season on Prime Video later in the same month.
Vanished Plot: A Romantic Trip Turns Into a Mystery
The story centers on Alice Monroe, played by Kaley Cuoco, and her boyfriend Tom Parker, played by Sam Claflin. Their couple’s retreat in Paris takes a shocking turn when Tom disappears without a trace during a train journey to the south of France.
Alice is suddenly alone in a foreign country, fighting to find the man she loves. Her search pulls her into a complex and dangerous situation. She begins to uncover hidden truths about Tom’s life, realizing he has kept major secrets from her. The official description states Alice is “plunged into a web of intrigue and danger, uncovering shocking secrets about the man she thought she knew”.
A trailer for the series shows a tense moment where Alice confronts another woman, played by Karin Viard, who claims to have been investigating Tom. When Alice insists “You don’t even know Tom,” the woman pointedly replies, “Do you?”. This exchange highlights the core mystery of the series: the identity of the missing man and the reality of his relationship with Alice.
Vanished Release Date and Global Streaming Schedule
The release of Vanished involves two different dates and platforms depending on where you live. This is due to separate distribution deals for the series.
For viewers in the United States, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Latin America, the show will be available on MGM+. The series premiere is set for Sunday, February 1, 2026. New episodes will be released weekly.
In a separate deal, Amazon Prime Video acquired the rights for another group of countries. Viewers in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand can watch Vanished on Prime Video. All four episodes of the limited series will be released at once for binge-watching on Friday, February 27, 2026.
Other territories, including Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, and Luxembourg, will get the series through distributor AGC International. Specific release dates for these regions have not been announced yet.
Meet the Vanished Cast and Creative Team
The series features a strong international cast led by two well-known television stars. Kaley Cuoco plays the lead role of Alice Monroe. Cuoco is best known for her long-running role as Penny on The Big Bang Theory and more recently for producing and starring in the thriller series The Flight Attendant. She also serves as an executive producer on Vanished.
Sam Claflin co-stars as the missing boyfriend, Tom Parker. Claflin’s recent credits include the Prime Video series Daisy Jones & The Six and the thriller Lazarus. The couple’s chemistry and the mystery surrounding Claflin’s character are central to the plot.
The supporting cast adds depth to the European setting. French actress Karin Viard plays a key role as a woman who has been looking into Tom’s past. German actor Matthias Schweighรถfer, seen in films like Oppenheimer, also appears. The cast is rounded out by Simon Abkarian and Dar Zuzovsky.
The series was created by David Hilton and Preston Thompson. Preston Thompson wrote the series, and Barnaby Thompson directed all episodes. The production is a collaboration between AGC Television, Slow Burn Entertainment, Rockwood Pictures, and Fragile Films.

Vanished was filmed entirely in France, using the country’s iconic locations to shape the story’s atmosphere. Principal photography took place in and around Paris and the port city of Marseille in the south of France.
Production was underway in May 2025. Filming in these actual locations provides a authentic backdrop for the story of a tourist’s nightmare, blending beautiful scenery with growing suspense.
Michael Wright, head of MGM+, said the series is “a perfect fit with the MGM+ brand that showcases classic Hollywood storytelling for a modern audience”.
The series joins other mystery and genre titles on MGM+, such as From and The Institute. For Kaley Cuoco, Vanished continues her shift from comedy to thriller roles following The Flight Attendant and Based on a True Story.
