The music for the first episode of Bridgerton Season 4 has been revealed. Benedict Bridgerton‘s long-awaited season will feature three new orchestral pop covers during the opening masquerade ball. The premiere episode, titled “The Waltz,” arrives on Netflix on January 29, 2026.

As with previous seasons, the show transforms modern hits into classical string arrangements. The songs chosen for the first episode set the tone for Benedictโ€™s Cinderella-inspired romance with Sophie Baek. The official list was announced by Netflix following a special fan event in Paris.

The Complete List of Songs in Season 4, Episode 1

Here is the full list of pop songs receiving a classical makeover in the Season 4 premiere, “The Waltz”.

  • “Life in Technicolor” by Coldplay, covered by the Vitamin String Quartet.
  • “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” by Usher featuring Pitbull, covered by Strings From Paris.
  • “Never Let You Go” by Third Eye Blind, covered by the Vitamin String Quartet.

These covers will play throughout the episodeโ€™s central event: a lavish masquerade ball hosted by Violet Bridgerton. It is at this ball that Benedict first meets the mysterious “Lady in Silver,” who is later revealed to be Sophie, a housemaid.

How the Music Connects to Benedict and Sophie’s Story

The selected songs are not random. Each one matches key moments in the episodeโ€™s story. The season adapts Julia Quinn‘s novel An Offer from a Gentleman, a classic tale of forbidden love across social classes.

  • Coldplay’s “Life in Technicolor” is described as filling the ballroom with a “dreamy buzz” as guests arrive, creating the magical atmosphere of the masquerade.
  • Usher and Pitbull’s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” becomes a dance floor showstopper. The high-energy track, reworked for strings, underscores the excitement and connection as Benedict and Sophie meet and dance.
  • Third Eye Blind’s “Never Let You Go” plays during more emotional and tense scenes. Its melody highlights Benedict’s growing feelings and the romantic stakes as Sophie must leave the ball at midnight.

โ€œThereโ€™s a reality and groundedness she has that other ladies in the ton donโ€™t have,โ€ actor Luke Thompson said about what draws Benedict to Sophie during a recent fan event.

The Artists Behind the Bridgerton String Covers

The show relies on specific musical groups to create its signature sound. For this season, two well-known ensembles are featured.

The Vitamin String Quartet returns, providing covers for the Coldplay and Third Eye Blind songs. They are famous for their string arrangements of pop and rock music and have been a part of the Bridgerton sound from the beginning.

Strings From Paris brings Usher and Pitbull’s club anthem into the Regency era. This group specializes in classical interpretations of contemporary hits, making them a perfect fit for the show’s style.

A Look Back at Bridgerton’s Musical History

Using pop covers is a defining feature of Bridgerton. It helps modern audiences connect with the historical setting. Each season has used music to define its central romance.

  • Season 1 featured an instrumental version of Taylor Swift‘s “Wildest Dreams” for Daphne and Simon’s love story.
  • Season 2 included a poignant cover of Robyn‘s “Dancing on My Own” during a key dance between Anthony and Kate.
  • Season 3 went viral with a string version of Pitbull‘s “Give Me Everything” during Penelope and Colin’s memorable carriage scene.

The inclusion of “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” marks the second time a Pitbull song has been featured, showing the producers’ skill at turning party anthems into romantic ballroom music.
