2nd Generation Top Girl Group Member Made To Undergo Security Clearance At Own Company

Loading

Girls’ Generation‘s Tiffany recently guested on Radio Star, where she talked about the group promotions she did for “Forever 1.” It had been a long time since she returned to SM Entertainment for the promotions since she left the company to go solo in 2017. She was shell-shocked at the treatment she received!

According to Tiffany, not only was she made to pay for parking, but she also had to undergo stringent security checks. Of course, this is natural given that the company houses so many stars. The building also does not solely belong to SM Entertainment, as they share it with another company. When she tried to enter the building, she had to go to security, where they asked for her phone number. She argued that she was here for Girls’ Generation’s rehearsals, to no avail.

“Because of our 15th Anniversary project, I had to go to work [at the office] again. It was a building I didn’t know, and the layout and parking lots were all so different. I went to work, thinking, ‘Wow, it sure changed,’ but they told me to get an entry pass. The security asked me, ‘For what purpose are you here,’ and I said, ‘I’m here for Girls’ Generation’s rehearsals.’ They asked for my number, and then, after looking at my face, they asked for my manager’s ID and told me to wait at the side for a while. It was a little unfamiliar. And the building’s parking fees are so expensive! I finished rehearsals, and I went to get the car. I pressed the intercom and told them I was there for rehearsals, but they told me to pay for it. There’s also a cafe in the building. I was going to buy some coffee. I worked there for 13 years, after all! I asked them for an Americano, but they told me it was ₩4,500 KRW (about $3.33 USD). Sunny came over and told me to order it under her name.”

She was so shocked to find out that she had to undergo all of that! She indignantly pointed out that she practically helped pay for the place.

Of course, things have changed since she worked there. In the building where she mostly worked, SM Entertainment had control over the whole place, so parking fees might have been waived. In addition, artists usually did not need to carry passes as security would be on hand at the entrance gates. On the other hand, the new building has its own protocols and security staff are not employed by SM Entertainment, but rather, the building.
