ADOR Counters NJZ Claims: No Retaliation, Just Contract Compliance

ADOR quickly responded to NJZ’s public statement, denying any claims of retaliatory measures and emphasizing their commitment to upholding the exclusive contract. The dispute centers on NJZ’s contract termination and ADOR’s injunction request.

ADOR’s Response to NJZ’s Claims

NJZ released a statement on March 6, asserting that their contract termination with ADOR followed legal procedures. They also accused ADOR of attempting to restrict their career by expanding the injunction request to limit their music activities.

ADOR, in their response, stated that the expansion of the injunction request was not a retaliatory measure. They explained that NJZ had been increasing their activities, including announcing new songs and overseas performances, while the injunction process was ongoing.

ADOR’s statement reads:

“ADOR chose to expand the scope of its injunction request, initially filed to maintain its status as the agency of NewJeans and to prohibit the signing of independent advertising contracts, because NewJeans have been increasing their activities, announcing the release of new songs as well as participation in large-scale overseas performances, while the injunction process is still ongoing. This is not an attempt to restrict their activities but rather to emphasize that they should continue their entertainment career ‘together with Ador’ and ‘in compliance with their exclusive contracts’. As previously stated, ADOR has never pressured event organizers in any way, nor is the expansion of the injunction request a retaliatory measure.”

Court Hearing and ADOR’s Intentions

The first injunction request court hearing is scheduled for March 7. ADOR aims to clarify any misunderstandings held by NJZ and seek a ruling affirming that ADOR remains NJZ’s agency.

ADOR’s statement further explains:

“Tomorrow in court, ADOR aims to clarify any misunderstandings held by the artists and seek a ruling affirming that ADOR remains NewJeans’ agency.”

The core of ADOR’s argument is that they are simply trying to ensure NJZ adheres to their exclusive contract while the legal process unfolds. They deny any intention of restricting NJZ’s activities beyond what is necessary to maintain their contractual rights.
