The new season of the popular teen drama is here. Ang Mutya ng Section E Book 2: The Dark Side will be available for streaming on Friday, December 5, 2025. The show’s release schedule was adjusted by one day from a previously mentioned date. The first part of this season will have nine episodes. A special behind-the-scenes feature, known as the “Primer Episode,” was shown online a week earlier on November 27.
The season will be released in two separate parts. After the initial nine episodes, the show will take a break. The story will then continue with Part Two on June 11, 2026. This structure allows the production team to work on the second half of the season.

The Plot and New Dangers in Book 2: The Dark Side
The second season is based on the second book in Lara Flores’s Wattpad series. The title, The Dark Side, signals a shift to more serious and dangerous storylines.
The season continues the complicated relationship between Jay-Jay (Ashtine Olviga), Keifer (Andres Muhlach), and Yuri (Rabin Angeles). The first season ended with a major decision: Jay-Jay agreed to marry Yuri because of pressure from her family. However, her true feelings for Keifer led to a meaningful kiss, creating a tense love triangle. The new season follows Jay-Jay as she deals with the difficult outcome of ending her engagement to Yuri.
The story also explores deeper personal struggles. Jay-Jay must face old trauma while trying to keep her life together at school. Keifer has his own problems, mainly a growing conflict with his father, Kaizer Watson (Joko Diaz). A major new threat comes with the arrival of Ryosuke Sato (played by Taneo of the P-pop group ALAMAT) and his group. In the original books, Sato is a yakuza heir, and he becomes a direct rival to Yuri.
The official teaser for the season hinted at these dangers with the line, “The Ghost of the past will haunt the present.” This suggests that secrets from the characters’ histories will come to light and drive the plot forward.
