Episode 3 of Ang Mutya ng Section E Book 2: The Dark Side delivers the major moment viewers were waiting for. The emotional journey finds its peak when Keifer Watson, played by Andres Muhlach, has a raw and vulnerable breakdown, leading Jay-Jay Fernandez (Ashtine Olviga) to finally admit her true feelings. The episode, which premiered on December 19, 2025, skillfully weaves this core character moment with new twists about Jay-Jay’s missing father and the mysterious Percy.

Released on the Viva One streaming platform, this chapter deepens the show’s central love triangle. Jay-Jay is caught between her unwanted engagement to Yuri Hanamitchi (Rabin Angeles) and her powerful connection with Keifer. Beyond the romance, the story pushes forward with bigger questions about family secrets and deals made in the shadows.

A Tense Start and a Mysterious Warning

The episode shows Jay-Jay actively avoiding both Yuri and Keifer at school, overwhelmed by the pressure of her situation. Her attempt to get a moment of peace is interrupted when she goes out to buy yogurt for her friend Ci-N and runs into David Theodore Braselton (Frost Sandoval). Their conversation takes a serious turn when David notices the ring hanging from Jay-Jay’s necklaceโ€”the same one she received mysteriously in Season 1.

David reveals he is a messenger for the elusive Percy Rey Collins (JD Axie). When Jay-Jay demands David message Percy in front of her, the reply is a direct threat: she must remove the ring or Yuri will be killed. This shocking warning confirms that the gift is more dangerous than she imagined and directly ties her fiancรฉ’s safety to her actions.

Keifer’s Investigation and a Father’s Whereabouts

Jay-Jay’s day becomes more complicated when Keifer finds her. He teases her before making a serious offer, promising her cars and even a house if she refuses to marry Yuri. He claims she belongs with him and says he has discovered something about her father.

He takes her to his home, where his friends Felix, Rory, and Edrix have been investigating. They show Jay-Jay photos as evidence, revealing that her father is currently in New York. The biggest shock comes from another image that shows her father with Percy, creating a confusing link between the mysterious threat and her own family. This discovery raises urgent questions about her father’s true fate and his connection to the person threatening her.

David’s Motive and Percy’s Family Ties

The episode clarifies why David is helping Percy. His motivation is not malice but desperation; his girlfriend is seriously ill, and Percy secured the medical treatment she needs. In exchange, David acts as Percy’s eyes and ears, reporting on Jay-Jay and the Section E group.

Before ending a call, Percy warns David not to fall in love with Jay-Jay, a comment that leaves David visibly conflicted. The scene then cuts to Percy, who is seen ending a call just as his mother enters the room, followed by his father. The man is revealed to be Jay-Jay’s father, unveiling a huge family secret and explaining Percy’s intense interest in Jay-Jay’s life.

Yuri’s Gentle Courtship and a Painful Moment

Meanwhile, Yuri picks Jay-Jay up for a day together, demonstrating his steady, caring nature. He takes her to church, where he defends her from mocking girls, calling her the most beautiful in his eyes. Later, at his home, he shares childhood photos, some of which include a younger Keifer and Aries, hinting at their shared past.

While cooking, Yuri teaches her Japanese phrases and asks her to say “Aishitemasu,” which means “I love you”. Understanding the meaning, Jay-Jay refuses to say it. Yuri kisses her on the cheek anyway, a gesture that leaves her uncomfortable but unable to object because of their engagement. The tension escalates when Jay-Jay cuts her thumb and, in a panic, instinctively calls out for Keifer before Yuri steps in to calm her. She later apologizes to Yuri, who leaves her home in clear distress.

Keifer’s Emotional Breakdown and Jay-Jay’s Confession

Keifer arrives at Jay-Jay’s home soon after, having likely seen Yuri leave. He pulls her into his car, takes her to a quiet place, and demands to know everything about her day with Yuri. When she reluctantly admits to the kiss on the cheek, Keifer is deeply hurt and asks if she has feelings for Yuri.

Frustrated and confused, Jay-Jay says she does like Yuri. This is the breaking point for Keifer. He challenges her, pointing out that she responded to his kiss on New Year’s Eve and agreed to be with him that day. His composure shatters as he pours out years of bottled-up pain.

“I have never been anyone’s priority. Even the Section E boys mentioned that Yuri must be saved first from the accident, just because he is weak. And nobody really cares about Keifer, who has grown up without a mother and even raised his brothers on his own. He has the cruelest father, who doesn’t love him.”

This raw admission of feeling unloved and unseen his entire life breaks down Jay-Jay’s defenses. Seeing Keifer so vulnerable, she realizes the truth of her own feelings. She pulls him into a tight hug and says the words he has longed to hear: “I love you too, Keifer“.
